I referenced their decks a lot when making the description of this deck and making the deck list.

The deck plays similarly to the standard Doomsday Zur in that we are racing to get to Doomsday to close out the game. We do not run cards to slow down others and must rely on counterspells to stop other decks while protecting your combo. There are several avenues to get ahead, some exaples of ideal starts are:
  • Dump fast mana and refill your hand with a wheel.
  • Race to an Ad Nauseam as fast as we can.
  • Slam Zur with protection to fetch Necropotence with mana to storm off on end step.
  • Along the way we may encounter stax pieces that require removal. If we are confident Zur will resolve and swing, allow the stax pieces to hold back your opponents. A tutored Grasp of Fate hits each opponent's best permanent and can turn the game around. Otherwise problematic stax pieces need to be bounced or countered.
The Win Con of this deck is Doomsday. Doomsday decks are one of the hardest to use, because of the factor that you need to know which piles to grab and what order to put them in.

So if the Win Con is Doomsday, you may want to know what piles to make right?

Well your in luck. I'm going to put the 2 ideal piles you would want to use. All the piles will be in the order of 1-5, 1 being the top card 5 being the card on the bottom.

.

ALWAYS TARGET YOURSELF WITH Gitaxian Probe, Some people will concede in reponse

.

Pile #1 - No Protection (Used if you know that no one has interuption)

  1. Gush
  2. Gitaxian Probe
  3. Lion's Eye Diamond
  4. Yawgmoth's Will
  5. Laboratory Maniac

Requires 4 life + 2 islands in play + initial draw spell + mana to play it twice. for Brainstorm or Ponder, or just if you have 4 islands for recasting Gush.

Gush to draw 2, play Lion's Eye Diamond, cast Gitaxian Probe and crack Lion's Eye Diamond in response for , draw and play Yawgmoth's Will, play and crack Lion's Eye Diamond for , play Gitaxian Probe, draw and play Laboratory Maniac. Play Gush or your initial draw spell to win.

Very fragile on the first LED activation. Use with caution unless you previously played Silence.

Pile #2 - More protected (Use if you believe someone has a counter spell)

  1. Frantic Search
  2. Silence
  3. Gush
  4. Laboratory Maniac
  5. Gitaxian Probe

Requires 2 life, 2 Islands in play, 2+ cards in hand, post DD and draw spell.

Play Frantic Search to draw 2, discard 2 from hand. Play Silence for protection, Play Gush for free to draw 2, play Laboratory Maniac, play Gitaxian Probe for 2 life to win.

Can substitute preferred protection for Silence. (Example Pact of Negation)

If fewer than 2 cards are in hand, switch Frantic Search and Gush, you need 2 more mana.
