Budget Competitive Xantcha. Powered-Down, Cheaper version of : Xantcha Combo-Control (for Competitive EDH).

At present, no card is over 40$. There's a cheaper version of Rolling Earthquake , which is like 10$.

If you want to slowly upgrade this, you want to start with the mana rocks and mana base, and the tutors. Vampiric Tutor is probably the most important card not in this build. Then you can get fetches, and Ancient Tomb for the lands, and then cheaper mana rocks like Chrome Mox and Mana Vault . You can keep getting better and better rocks and lands, eventually working all the way up to Badlands and Mox Diamond .

I like the Mindcrank - Bloodchief Ascension combo with Inventors' Fair to tutor for it. Might be worth doing in the non-budget list, too.

Xantcha Bonus Round line is pretty much the same:

Bonus Round + Demonic Tutor + 1 free Black Mana :

1. Cast Bonus Round .
2. Cast Demonic Tutor , get Dark Ritual , Dark Petition .
3. Cast Dark Ritual , (6 black).
4. Cast Dark Petition (7 black), getting Final Parting and Cabal Ritual
5. Cast Final Parting (2 black), getting Lotus Petal and Past in Flames , putting Seething Song and Rite of Flame in the GY.
6. Cast Cabal Ritual (10 black)
7. Cast and crack Lotus Petal for Red (1 red, 10 black).
8. Cast Past in Flames (6 black)
9. Cast Cabal Ritual (14 black)
10. Cast Demonic Tutor (12 black) getting Aetherflux Reservoir and Gilded Lotus .
11. Cast Gilded Lotus (7 black)

18. Wincon (c) get Entomb and Animate Dead , entombing the Worldgorger Dragon and casting Animate Dead on it.

You can also shortcut the Bonus Round line if you have a spare red mana.

Bonus Round + Demonic Tutor + 1 free Black Mana + 1 free Red Mana:

1. Cast Bonus Round .
2. Cast Demonic Tutor , get Dark Ritual , Dark Petition .
3. Cast Dark Ritual , (6 black).
4. Cast Dark Petition (7 black), getting Finale of Promise and Lotus Petal .
5. Cast Lotus Petal into Finale of Promise with x = 3 (4 black), targeting with the first-to-resolve copy Bonus Round and with the original spell Demonic Tutor and Dark Ritual .
6. Bonus Round gets cast, and copied. 3 bonus rounds have now resolved.
7. Dark Ritual gets cast 4 times, (16 black).
8. Demonic Tutor gets cast 4 times.
9. Get any wincon you want, as above.
