A defender themed deck built on a budget - goal was to keep it under $50. Definitely a slow burner, but flips the switch for heavy hits or a huge swing late game.

• Create a solid defense early with Order of the Stars , and then continue building up and defending your high toughness defenders with Stalwart Shield-Bearers .
• Transform your Ludevic's Test Subject   to give you some big attackers, and once Arcades, the Strategist and/or Assault Formation are out, share that power with Dragon Throne of Tarkir and strike back.
• Axebane Guardian provides loads of mana, which will help you play things faster (and make monstrous more easily your Colossus of Akros .)
• Arcades, the Strategist and Teyo, the Shieldmage providing a minor draw engine.
• Wall of Reverence and Perimeter Captain provide some easily gained life.
• Sideboard includes a couple more copies of Colossus of Akros in case you want to lean into the heavy hitters, as well as another great defensive options ( Guard Gomazoa ), another counter option ( Cancel ), another control option ( Pacifism ), and a board wipe option ( Planar Cleansing ).
