I had to try this deck. I can't stop using it. And sideboard tech is hilarious - add more zombie infestations if they try to stop you!
A deck you can mull to 1 with. Amazing.

Something i would add to this deck would be Psychic Spiral as a secondary win-con if you just go ham discarding and it runs to late game, it could help out a lot

No need for mountains/Anger. Bring in zombies Opponent's EOT. If anything, add Boseiju(s) so your spells are uncounterable. Also, whipflare is sorcery. You bring in zombies at your Opponent's EOT, avoiding sorceries and your zombies effectively have haste.

Getting back into MTG after many years (2009). Playing around with this deck on MTGO.
What I think this deck is missing is a way to send lands and other cards from graveyard to our hand. It would be great if the card was also a land which would not trigger the end to the treasure hunt.
Does such a card exist?

Awesome deck, +1. danth I ran the Seismic Assault version of this deck, and used the ability transmute to make more consistent Treasure Hunt draws, but for some reason it didn't occur to me to keep mullies until I hit it, so thanks for the solid advice.

This seems extremely susceptible to control decks. All they have to do is counter either of the combo cards and you're done. Any suggestions?

Boseiju, Who Shelters All vs. control. Should be a 4-of in the mainboard, anyway. Just wait for them to tap out to play your first Treasure Hunt and then hopefully draw a Boseiju to play Zombie Infestation.

Cast Treasure Hunt to get the Zombie Infestation on field and drop your hand. Then you can sack all the lands in play, except a Tower and an Island, to the Orb and Elixir everything back in. Have another Treasure Hunt and start over with the Infestation on field.

Haha, it's actually really fun to play. I only take it when our group plays casually, and I only ever play it against new guys that haven't seen it before. It's usually a good laugh.

Oooooo. You might want to add some Counterspell to that deck, just so they won't use a spell to destroy target enchantment. (Especially if you are only going to have one)

i dont know if anybody has tried this but Lim-Dul's Vault might be a good add in. it will get in the way of treasure hunt but it has a greater effect. a maybe option

eragon795, I would say play the slightly more expensive Treasure Assault (Have Seismic Assault instead of Zombie Infestation), assuming you are able to resolve Assault, you can just perma-shock them for more damage than you would know what to do with.
For me, I am working on a slightly more expensive version where I can run Zombie Hunt Main Board, and side out for Assault Loam if needed.
Basically Mainly Blue And Red Landbase with black splash since I don't normally resolve Zombie Infestation the turn I treasure hunt and can afford to play a black mana source the turn after (or hold my land play on turn 3 after resolving Treasure Hunt).
Tolaria West is great to have in the Assault version (weather that's pre or post board), otherwise just having good lands that can deny a blocker (the newer Skyline Cascade) or kill a guy (Quicksand is a pretty budget version).
Budget multi-colored lands, while slow, are the vivid lands. Otherwise Gemstone mine and the like would do the trick 80% or more of the time. It's gonna be a slow process to get all the really good lands for me, but I think those are the cards we really wanna look at to make it more competitive (though not cheaper RIP).
Otherwise, if you are playing Magic: the Gathering Online, it's like a .5 tix (50 cent) deck which is hilarious to play. Definitely a deck you should build and play at least one match.

I know it jumps the price a bit but I added 2 Vault of the Archangel and 1 Adarkar Wastes and 1 Caves of Koilos instead of Contested War Zone. Love this deck. Its the first I play against anyone new to the playgroup or when I'm new to a playgroup.

Unfortunately, this deck is no longer $2.27 as reliquary tower can run up to $3 per. I'm wondering though, is it even necessary? If I'm not worried about mass board wipes, can't I just use 4 hunts and 1 infestation, without more? The only other cheap option I found for Reliquary replacement is spell book.

Can someone clarify the use of Contested War Zone here? Once I put it in play, don't I run the risk of having it taken from me if I have to wait until my opponent's end step to play Zombie Infestation?

I think if you have the budget for it, run up to all 4. It seems like a super solid plan vs. board-wipe. It is a little slow mana-wise (since normally you Treasure Hunt t3), but not a bad thing if you need to get past some big chumpers or something.

Love this. I already own the Treasure Hunts so I'm definitely going to make this, and after playtesting I'm pretty sure this is 100% spot-on for cards and numbers. Always start with a Treasure Hunt, even if you have to mulligan to 1. Don't ever play that Treasure Hunt on Turn 2 unless you already have a reliquary tower out. After playtesting it 20 times here's what kind of numbers I got:
TRY NUMBER: NUMBER OF ZOMBIES on TURN NUMBER then w/War means that I have [[Contested War Zone]] to help with next turn attack. 1: 13 on 4 w/War 2: 15 on 5 w/War 3: 5 on 4 4: 7 on 6 5: 13 on 4 w/War 6: 19 on 4 w/War 7: 10 on 4 w/War 8: 0 9: 7 on 4 10: 13 on 4 11: 0 12: 12 on 5 w/War 13: 11 on 3 14: 3 on 4 w/War 15: 0 16: 8 on 4 w/War, 3 on 5 17: 18 on 5 w/War 18: 22 on 5 w/War 19: 17 on 7 w/2 War 20: 0
