Modern Combo Discard Reanimator Theme/Gimmick UB (Dimir)

Revedeka

This deck is among the few deck that I made that doesn't feature an Angel or Dragon! But I just thought that the "Ninjutsu" was such a cool ability in magic, I just had to try to make a deck around it. I think this is as close as I am going to get without making any major changes again.I will now give a small breakdown of the deck:

GENERAL GAMEPLAN

You want to get your ninja's out as soon as possible. Their Ninjutsu ability is always lower than their converted mana cost so that's the easiest way to get them out. The best way is trough cheap enablers. Gudul Lurker and Triton Shorestalker are both one-drops who are unblockable, thus always able to be a target for ninjutsu (the ability ninjutsu isnt a targeted ability though, so it goes through shroud). You want to both get a lot of cards with these creatures with Mask of Memory aswell as summoning creatures who make your enemy discard cards such as Okiba-Gang Shinobi and later use their discarded cards against them with Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni. However when you have your ninja's in play after the turn they ninjutsu'd in, they can be blocked. Because all their abilities are "when this creature deals combat damage to a player" you want to make them unblockable again. You can do this with either Higure, the Still Wind , Artful Dodge or use their ninjutsu ability again by sending them back to your hand with Walker of Secret Ways and AEther Tradewinds . Eventually your enemies wont have any card in hand, no creatures to block and your side of the battlefield will be swarming with ninja's.

CREATURES

4 x Gudul Lurker - For 1 mana a 1/1 creature with unblockable. Just what this deck needs. Can also be megamorphed but you will probably never use that. This creature is here to make sure you can ninjutsu a creature in in the combat phase, and due to its low mana cost, you can cast this card again in your second main phase. This way youre making sure that you can ninjutsu a card in every turn if possible.

2 x Triton Shorestalke - This card is in here for the same reason as Gudul Lurker. You could also argue that Invisible Stalker is better. But I think that the low mana cost is more important than the hexproof. You want to combo as much as possible each turn.

2 x Walker of Secret Ways - Bounces ninja's back to your hand, making you able to ninjutsu them in again. The ninjutsu ability of this one isnt that great. Converted mana cost 3 and ninjutsu cost 2, and reveals your enemies hand. This way you can kinda remember what cards the enemy has left when you make them discard with Okiba-Gang Shinobi .

1 x Sakashima's Student - Can copy any creature on the battlefield for 4 mana, however its ninjutsu cost is only 2. If you want to target your own creatures then Okiba-Gang Shinobi is probably the best one to target. However this card may be removed for some mana acceleration cards, because the creatures that you really want to target are legendary.

4 x Okiba-Gang Shinobi - This card is one of the most important ones, you almost always want to ninjutsu this guy in, and bounce it back after and redo this the whole time. Your enemy discards 2 cards every time it hits, which is a lot of cards. The ninjutsu cost is 3B, while its casting cost is 3BB. The 1 less B really makes a difference.

2 x Higure, the Still Wind - Probably the strongest ninja in this deck. Makes ninja's unblockable which is amazing, that literally what they're built around. Also makes you fetch ninja's. The usual target is Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni but this can ofcourse change depending on what you need.

2 x Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni - Strongest card power/toughness wise in this deck, 5/4 and you can ninjutsu it in for 5. This card combo's well with Okiba-Gang Shinobi since your opponent is bound to discard creature cards sooner or later. Also the regenerate makes this also a very good blocker. and can survive some burst.

INSTANTS/SORCERIES

2 x Artful Dodge - Makes a creature unblockable in 2 different turns, which is amazing in this deck, it has a very cheap mana cost of only one U.

3 x Familiar's Ruse - Counters a spell and bounces a ninja back to your hand, just a counter spell that protects this deck.

3 x AEther Tradewinds - Bounces an enemy permanent and a ninja you control back to their hands. 1 less blocker and an extra ninjutsu.

2 x High Tide - Some mana acceleration which this deck might need to do a combo, jsut an overall good card for this deck.

ARTIFACTS

3 x Lightning Greaves - Gives a creature haste and shroud, make sure you can put an unblockable creature in play and immediately ninjutsu it, the equip cost is 0 which is really helpful, and what make sme choose this card over similair cards like Swiftfoot Boots. The shroud can also be great.

4 x Mask of Memory - Some card draw that fits perfectly in this deck, works great in the early game with unblockable creatures and late game aswell due to its low equip cost.

3 x Ronin Warclub - This card doesnt seem that great but it works so well with ninja's. When you ninjutsu a ninja in this card equips to it, dealing an extra 2 damage to the ene,y without paying any kind of equip cost. For 3 mana your ninja's do 2 extra damage every time they ninjutsu.

LANDS

1 x Creeping Tar Pit - Gives U and B and can become an unblockable creature which you can ninjutsu out, however the fact that it EBT makes it not that great, thats why theres only 1 in this deck.

4 x Sunken Ruins - Converts mana, for if you have too little swamp to summon Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni.

14 x Island - Need a lot of these for High Tide and this deck uses a lot more island than swamps anyway.

4 x Swamp - Just a few of these should be enough.
