The idea behind the deck is to use Bruse Tarl's triggered ability to give Tana double strike and make twice the tokens. There are also mechanisms to put +1/+1 counters on our tokens and creatures. Putting counters on Tana makes her get out of hand pretty quickly. I've found that bastion protector is one of the best cards in the deck because you can attack more safely with Tana, and also make a minimum of 4 tokens.
