Superstition

Ultimately, this deck is my baby. An ode to my first foray into EDH, an amalgamation of my personal favorite colours and strategies in the entirety of Magic, and a deck I constantly come back to and am always looking to improve on. While there are more powerful versions and iterations available, I enjoy this deck as a "75" take on Sidisi, and is one that I'd happily bring into a group of strangers or other people I'm looking to have a solid, social game with.

What Makes This Deck Fun

The resiliency and sheer amount of options you have at any particular stage of the game makes this an absolute blast to pilot. Your graveyard truly becomes an extension of your hand, and the freedom to grab whatever you need at any given time simply feels really good.

This Deck Is For Those Who:

Appreciate using the right tool for the job
Enjoy token-based strategies
Want to use the graveyard as a resource
Can adapt to any situation

Fear

The Game Plan

Typically, our strategy with this deck is to win via attrition and to ultimately go wide- being able to recur anything and everything allows us to accrue cumulative card advantage when treating our graveyard as an additional hand of cards. Rather than trying to race our opponents, we simply work on out-valuing them by ensuring every card we play provides perpetual benefits to our field/hand/deck/graveyard in relation to our opponents. Naturally, there are exceptions to this rule, but the vast majority of cards in the deck support each other or provide multiple uses when played at the appropriate time.

Jealousy

I'm always looking for/appreciate suggestions for this deck, so long as they're accompanied with a recommendation and argument towards what needs to be pulled out to replace them! Please keep in mind that the deck needs to remain around 40% creatures to keep Sidisi's triggers consistent, but aside from that I'm all ears! (Of note: Anything added to the Maybeboard with an "A" are cards I'm interested in playtesting, but don't currently own. Cards without it are owned but under review- discussion into these are heartily encouraged!)

Budget Options

Unfortunately, this deck is on the pricier end of things- this is simply due to this deck being a personal project of mine for a few years now. The majority of the price seen on this site is simply due to me tracking my foil progress here on this list. However, there are a number of cards that could be swapped out to make a more budget-friendly version. Of note, I do believe that these cuts will drop the power level substantially, but I believe it would still be able to hold it's own in an equivalently budget meta - feel free to check out the baseline budget version that I threw together here, and take away from it whatever you wish!

Updates Add

Well, over the past few months this deck has seen an odd turn. It moved into a more combo-centric role, imitating the cEDH Food Chain builds that can be found around this site. While aggressive, fast, and consistent, I found it steered away from what I liked in EDH: Social, back-and-forth games. I found I wasn't enjoying piloting it, my playgroup wasn't enjoying playing against it, and at the end of the day it just wasn't playing the way I wanted it to. Since then, it got torn apart and scavenged for other decks.

A week ago I decided I wanted to really recommit to the roots of this deck, while still building it to be a deck that was strong enough to stand on it's own without being too oppressive.I realized I wanted three things out of the deck:

1. To be focused around Sidisi and her abilities
2. To be able to play anything from the graveyard
3. To play a more toolbox style suite of cards

This meant axing two of the other very prominent themes this deck has had in the past, both zombie tribal and combo. I've only gotten a handful of games with the deck in it's current iteration, but so far I (and my opponents) have enjoyed things so much more, which in the end, isn't what this is all about?
