Placed 3rd at Tournament!! —Feb. 23, 2013
Used this and placed 3rd at my local game store's Modern tournament.
ROUND 1: Monogreen Elves (1-2)
Game 1: Win. Don't remember anything special that happened but a bloodrushed Vampire Nighthawk was the win con.
Game 2: Loss. He played like 15674324813254 Elf tokens with Elvish Archdruid in play and then played Overrun.
Game 3: Loss. He summons a bajillion tokens and swung.
ROUND 2: BG Infect (2-1)
Game 1: He plays a Blight Mamba t2 and then pumps the shit out of before I can cast any blockers. GG.
Game 2: Used Terminate, Dreadbore, and Bituminous Blast on all of his Infect guys and used Dreg Mangler and Vampire Nighthawk to swing for the win.
Game 3: Used removal once again on all of his guys and played a Vampire Nighthawk and bloodrushed twice for game.
ROUND 3: Monored Goblins.(2-0)
Game 1: Had a playset of Vampire Nighthawk out and he had no fliers.
Game 2: Used all my burn spells to hit him in the face while having Vampire Nighthawk and Dreg Mangler to take care of his creatures.
FINALS: Monogreen Elves (2-0)
Game 1: Rematch with the Elves guy. Played a bunch of burn spells and removal on all of his important elves and Blightning to make him discard all of his token making cards. Swung with Vampire Nighthawk for the win.
Game 2: I mull down to 5 but still manage to get out 2 Dreg Mangler to get the game going. He sideboards in Triumph of the Hordes and gives me 9 poison counters. I have him at 2 life with no creatures on the board while he has enough tokens to kill me. Top deck a Blightning and get the win.
All I can say is thank the Magic gods for Vampire Nighthawk. Haha
