Silas and Akiri's Marvelous Myr | Artifact Tribal

Commander / EDH Artifact Casual Four Color Jank Tribal

JDMCRIB

Warning: Outdated Description!

Intro:

So, oddly enough, Myr is one of my favorite creature types in all of Magic. Ever since I first got into the game, there's just been something about these little artifacts that fascinates me. I even tried to build a (60-card) Myr tribal deck a long time ago, and it wasn't too successful. Now, I feel like I know enough about the game to construct a deck around one of Magic's most unassuming tribes.

(Note: this is just an idea a threw together. This probably isn't a fully optimized list, and it's certainly not high-tier competitive.)

So, why Breya, Etherium Shaper?

Well, unfortunately there are no legendary Myr cards to properly command this deck. However, the next-best-thing is most likey Breya, Etherium Shaper. There are two reasons for this: 1) she gives us access to the four artifact-based colors (sorry ), and 2), she has pretty good Myr synergy built into her. Myr Moonvessel , Myr Retriever, and random Myr tokens all work well with her activated ability. Despite these things, this is not a Breya deck, and she has limited uses here. This is one of those rare cases in EDH where your deck is built around the 99, not the general itself.

The Lords

What tribal deck is complete without its lords? We have a pretty decent package here, including Myr Galvanizer, Metallic Mimic, and Adaptive Automaton . In addition to these baddies, we get a few anthem effects: Eldrazi Monument, Myr Matrix , and Tempered Steel . There's also Door of Destinies, but I'll mention that one in a sec when I talk about another card. These cards allow our battalion of Myr to become threats at the table.

Spicy Myr

Coretapper has two synergies in this deck: with Everflowing Chalice and Door of Destinies. The shenanigans here get out of hand pretty quick.

Lodestone Myr can make use of your unused artifacts and your artifacts that don't care about being tapped and swing big at an opponent. He's useful for playing around Silent Arbiter, Propaganda, etc. He's also hilarious with Cranial Plating. Lastly, he kinda turns your artifact lands into pump spells.

Myr Welder is a pretty neat guy. If you'll notice, he targets any artifact card from any graveyard, and has all activated abilities of all cards exiled with it. This means that if your Vandalblast blows up someones mana rocks, or if someone else's blows up yours, you can use the Welder to steal their ramp or recur your own.

Shimmer Myr is basically Vedalken Orrery on a stick... yeah.

Myr Superion is awesome. Besides being a damn 5/6 for 2 that's easy to cast in this deck, he quickly steals the game with a Prototype Portal or, to a lesser extent, Mimic Vat.

Tutors

In EDH, you gotta love your tutors. This deck packs plenty, including Enlightened Tutor, Tezzeret the Seeker , Kuldotha Forgemaster, and Ring of Three Wishes. These cards allow you to search up threats, answers, and the missing pieces in your synergies.

Good Cards are Good

Unwinding Clock is pretty much the best thing ever. Need I explain?

Blinkmoth Urn = all the mana.

Darksteel Forge... yep.

Skullclamp is downright busted once you start generating tokens. Get a Myr Turbine into play and literally draw two cards every turn. Yes please.

Daretti, Scrap Savant and Daretti, Ingenious Iconoclast are both sweet artifact toolboxes. The former allows you to transmute your bad cards into good cards, and the latter gives you access to repeatable removal. Also, both of their ultimates are insanely funny.

Lastly, All Is Dust and Scourglass. Because who doesn't love (mostly) one-sided boardwipes in EDH?

Outro:

Well, that's about all I've got to say about this one. Seems sweet to me, but it'll still need testing before I can say if it's good or not. If you have any ideas or suggestions on how to improve this list, please comment down below! I'd love to make this deck as good as possible (without breaking the bank).

Thanks for stopping by! :)

(P.S. If I ever decide to build this deck in paper, I am sure-as-hell not buying all those lands. Such is the luxury of building and testing decks online.)
