Introduction

A quasi-budget decklist that I compiled looking at various other Brago decks. This deck offers control as well as blinking ETB trigger goodness. Included are a whole array of mana rocks to ensure Brago gets out on T2. Mana rocks are especially broken when blinked by Brago's ability. I will warn you, this deck has a potential of causing you to lose friends.

General Information

Since we rely on Brago to be able to blink stuff, I've added some stuff to let him hit his target such as Unquestioned Authority or Steel of the Godhead. I've included Strionic Resonator since it's what makes Brago degenerate. Budget constraints is why I have decided not to include extra turn spells with the likes of Archaeomancer.

This deck takes advantage of manifest shenanigans from Lightform and Cloudform . Simply blink out the manifested card and the enchantment and get permanents for free. Really nasty with Strionic Resonator since it allows us to play out our entire deck. For this reason sorceries and instants are kept to a minimum.

I've also included an aura package. The auras not only protect Brago and let him hit his targets. They also fulfill a dual purpose of drawing cards when blinked. If any aura or enchantment gets thrown in the bin we can get them back with Auramancer and Sun Titan. Heliod's Pilgrim not only lets us fetch for auras that offer Brago protection but effects that draws cards, manifests our deck, cause our opponents to sac permanents ( Reality Acid ), and makes Brago unblockable.

Strategy

Opening Hand

A good starting hand will have at least one mana rock and a Island/Plains. An early Brago (T2-3) is the ideal target. It allows us to attack an opponent sooner to start triggering our King. If you have Strionic Resonator in your opening hand then odds are you're going to win.

Beginning Turns

Having a mana rock or two out will put you ahead. A T2 Brago is practically as must so that way we can abuse him faster as this deck lacks haste effects. Also opponents may be less likely to be able to counter him on T2. After that we can use ETB effects and counters to police the board, draw cards, ect.

Assemble a Wincon

So after you have a couple mana rocks and perhaps a draw source or two, we can really start to abuse Brago. Listed in the next few sections are specific card combos which we will attempt to assemble to will.

Combos

Brago, King Eternal + Strionic Resonator + a rock that taps for 2 or more: the main combo, infinite blinking. Enables the following:

Strionic Resonator Combo Cards

Thought-Knot Seer: draws out opponents decks.

Altar of the Brood: same as above

Cloudform or Lightform : manifests our entire deck since manifested cards return face up.

Reality Acid , Reflector Mage, Nevermaker , Rishadan Footpad, or Rishadan Cutpurse: clears or bounces the board.

Act of Authority , Detention Sphere, Oblivion Ring, Parallax Wave or other similar cards: use the stack to permanently exile their targets.

Myr Battlesphere : infinite tokens, allows us to swing for lethal.

Basalt Monolith or any other mana rock: allows us to use them over and over again.

Non-Strionic Resonator Combos

Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake or Cloud of Faeries with a land that taps for 2 or more: infinite mana.

Panharmonicon + Any creature or artifact ETB effect: doubles the ETB effect. Panharmonicon is Strionic Resonator's lil bro.

Kaladesh Update 9/30/16

The King is back baby, yeah! He's come out of retirement just to get assassinated (according to the lore anyhow). Not so "eternal" afterall, eh bub?

I haven't updated this deck for a while so it's getting a bit of an overhaul here. I'm reducing the amount of Stasis/ETB tapped effects. While quite effective, they can also set me back as well if Brago is removed and I don't think they help to the overall goal (unless that is to annoy our opponents- have that in spades). I'm still including some to use when I'm ahead like Tangle Wire and Static Orb. This might help speed up those grindy games. But I don't know if they will be staying in.

I have added or kept permanents that don't need to be blinked like Fatespinner or Grand Abolisher. Solemn Simulacrum /Mystic Remora for more ramp/card draw. And Thought-Knot Seer as another win con similar to Altar of the Brood.

So Kaladesh is upon us, what's to add? Panharmonicon that's what! It doubles all our ETB effects! This card I feel will be EDH's new Sol Ring. It's just nuts, it's hard to find a deck that it doesn't work well in. Then there's Cloudblazer, or as I call it Mulldrifter #2. That's about it.
