Simonbarsinister, I did make the adjustment and added Foreboding Ruins and twice (out of five games) today I ruined my opponent's day by getting Insolent Neonate out turn 1, Stromkirk Condemned out turn 2, and either Drana, Liberator of Malakir (1 game out of 5) or Bloodhall Priest (1 game out of 5) out during turns 1, 2, and 3!

Starting hand in the first game was 1x Foreboding Ruins, 2x Swamp, 1x Insolent Neonate, 1x Stromkirk Condemned, 1x Drana, Liberator of Malakir, and 1x Stensia Masquerade. It all worked so well that the game was over in about 7 turns!

I strongly recommend Foreboding Ruins to get a red creature out turn 1, then use it for black to get out subsequent creatures. Very effective.

No Stensia Banquet? Blood Mist might also be a good consideration, since Double Strike can be a brutal ability, but Stensia Masquerade is probably a much better choice of the two. Indulgent Aristocrat wouldn't be a bad consideration, since you could discard a card for Call of the Bloodline, hopefully use Madness for discarded card, get token and then sacrifice the token to beef all your vamps without having to deal combat damage.

Also Falkenrath Gorger to give all Vamps Madness and benefit your discard mechanic more. Null Caller maybe? If you don't have much to bring creatures back, then it'd work good with Kalitas or just make nice fodder. Vampire Cutthroat for a cheap Lifelink with Skulk.

ChampionWiggles, I had Falkenrath Gorger in an earlier evolution of the deck but I found the card to not synergize well enough. I had a better time replacing it with Bloodhall Priest and and additional Stensia Masquerade. I know that people love the gorger, but I just didn't find it operating well because it is only a 2/1. It was killed soooo easily that it wasn't worth it. I think that Village Messenger  Flip is a better 1 drop because of the menace.

Vampire Cutthroat has been playtested and is interesting, but it ads little to the deck as I would have to remove burn/removal cards and I'm not willing to do that. It is a good card, just not quite the right card for the deck at the moment. Maybe as the Kaladesh rotation comes around it may have a place in this deck.

Null Caller is interesting. It's ability is expensive, though, at 4 mana. I would rather have Vampire Envoy for 3 mana, and I did have that in this deck in the earlier evolution. Just didn't synergize as well as I had hoped.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll keep looking at Vampire Cutthroat!

ChampionWiggles, forgot to mention that Stensia Banquet is indeed interesting. That might be a card for the sideboard to consider. I have playtested it with mixed results, and it does require additional work.

Thanks for the suggestion!

I just built a B/R vamp deck as well, although our decks only have like 1 or 2 cards in common. Lol

Might look at Bloodline Keeper  Flip. Great at getting bodies out, and when you flip him all your vamps get +2/+2 and flying, while still putting out 2/2 bodies.

Awesome deck though! Really like how you're using Stromkirk Condemned. I have him in mine, looks like I might need 2x more!

hardhitta71194, unfortunately, Bloodline Keeper  Flip isn't Standard format legal. I'll check out your deck, though. Thanks for the input and comment!

Oh sorry about that. I just play casual so I didn't know. Awesome deck though! Your deck just reminds me how many awesome vampires I had to leave outta mine.

You're welcome man!
