BOSH/DARETTI ARTIFACT BULLSHIT

Commander / EDH

seymourbutts

Let's face it folks. Bosh, Iron Golem is not a competitive general, and not many people will argue with that. Despite being included in the 2014 commander deck as an optional general, both of the other contenders, Daretti, Scrap Savant and Feldon of the Third Path , not only perform better, but their CMCs allow for faster gameplay and make it so poor Bosh can hardly compete.

With that in mind I present my version of a Bosh, Iron Golem edh deck. It's slow. It plays big artifacts and tends to durdle. Sometimes I can't even get Bosh into play. And that's totally fine. Bosh is DEFINITELY not the focus of this deck. He is what provides the extra reach to finish off opponents after the game has gone on for 4 hours and people just want to go home.

In my experience with the deck, the ability to explode right off the bat is VERY much possible. Going Sol Ring into Mind Stone into Mana Vault happens and is just as disgusting as it sounds (no Mana Crypt because college student, sue me). Other times you may find your self with a turn 2 Daretti, soon ultimate-ing on turn 5 ish. But sometimes there's the game where you draw 2 lands and have 1 three mana rock and durdle for the first 10 turns.

Overall though, the deck puts in serious work sometimes. It's surprisingly resilient and can pull off clunky combos that can win if uninterrupted.

Notable Cards/Combos/things I feel like mentioning: Madcap Experiment - with the sheer abundance of artifacts in the deck, this spell is always fun to cast. Sometimes it's a 4 mana Blightsteel Colossus , other times it gets a Mind Stone .

Spine of Ish Sah - one of my favorite cards to throw with Bosh. Pay 4, deal 7, cast again, destory, rinse, repeat. Gets even more fun and even game ending the more mana you have.

Gilded Lotus , Kurkesh, Onakke Ancient and Voltaic Key - the "big combo" in the deck. Infinite mana is always good, especially when paired with Bosh and the Spine. Or just Bosh. With no interruptions and a godlike opening hand, one could theoretically win turn 3. Each of these cards are also interesting on their own, especially Kurkesh. Doubling up on Bosh damage? Yes please!

Overall, the deck is somewhat risky to run, but rewarding to play correctly. The average CMC may be almost 5, but that's the price to pay. I always enjoy playing this deck, and every time I play it feels like I won in a different fashion.
