Update 4: One of my opponents at GP Portland suggested trying Nahiri's Wrath. It has tested well. With the release of Ravnica Allegiance, I have also added Light Up the Stage, and now the deck is actually performing well. I made the top 8 of my last 1K, going undefeated in the swiss rounds.

Update 3: I took the "tuned" version of the deck to a couple more 1K events and did poorly. I took it to GP Portland (Main Event) and dropped after round 5 (2-2-1). I played in several Modern side events there afterwards and did OK, but lost to Phoenix every time I played against it.

Update 2: Brought this to a Modern PPTQ 8/12. 80 players. I finished 16th, going 4-2-1. One of my losses was to the KCI deck that made top 8. The deck played really well, but it had 61 cards... I needed the 22nd land. I'm still tinkering with it. Adding Chandra helped a lot.

Matchups: UW Control 1-1-1 Draw Jund 2-1 Hollow One 0-2 and 2-1 KCI 0-2 Mono W Devotion 2-0 Mardu Pyromancer 2-0

Update: Took this deck to GP Seattle 2018 and played in 6 modern side events. I had a great time and played great opponents. Matched up against several decks I hadn't played before. Friday went well, my only loss was to Lantern Control. Saturday was rough. My only win was against a mono black zombie infect deck which nearly beat me. I still love this deck and I will continue to tune it up. I got a lot of positive feedback on the deck.

Plan A is to have more life than the opponent and kill them with Boros Reckoner + Volcano Hellion . Turn 4 kill has happened multiple times with the combo. Plan B for the deck is to use Pyrohemia + Worship to bring the opponent down over the course of the game, which kills the opponent's creatures while mine stay alive or do extra damage. Boros Reckoner + Nahiri's Wrath , Blasphemous Act + Spitemare or Blasphemous Act + Boros Reckoner also usually works as a finisher. This deck is creature heavy but doesn't need to attack to win. I also have Pyrohemia + Swans of Bryn Argoll , Lightning Bolt + Swans of Bryn Argoll , Blasphemous Act + Swans of Bryn Argoll , Chandra, Torch of Defiance , Light Up the Stage , and Wall of Omens to generate card advantage. Hazoret the Fervent is great when in late game top-deck mode.

My only major problem matchup is Tron. I'm considering bringing in Damping Sphere instead of Blood Moon or one of the other sideboard cards, or running Field of Ruin instead of the extra fetch lands.
