You only need 1 basic land pretty much the whole game. I should drop it to 8. That's mathematically enough to hit one on draw mostg the time.

The main trick is a 10/10 on turn 3. Play a Basic Land, tap and return it to hand to pay a Borderpost. Do this every turn. ON turn 3 the converted mana cost of Artifacts will be 9 with 2 untapped paying for a Metalwork Colossus .

Ichor Wellspring , Prophetic Prism and Metalspinner's Puzzleknot are there for the card draw and to become creatures (*see below). Ethersworn Canonist only gives them 1 non-artifact card per turn. Cloud Key drops our artifact cost.

* March of the Machines turns all our artifacts (including all the borderposts) into creatures. Mycosynth Lattice turns EVERYTHING into artifacts destroying all lands when MotM in on the board (unless you SB in an "other artifact creatures get +/+" card).
