Sideboard

Maybeboard

This is a sort of Pirate themed tribal deck for standard I've been messing around with. The main idea is to win with Treasure Tokens by either using Mechanized Production or Revel in Riches, although in my testing I have yet to pull off a win with the latter of the two. As a sort of back up win condition, I have Cut / Ribbons, which is decent removal, but can be explosive if you "Ribbons" from the graveyard by cashing in a bunch of Treasure Tokens.

Captain Lannery Storm is one of the best creatures that I've found thus far for the deck, especially with the Prying Blade attached. I've been able to do quite a bit of damage with him as well, considering he gets a temporary +1/+0 bonus each time you sac a Treasure. I was hesitant to include Prying Blade at first, but it works pretty well and is the only Treasure Token producing 1 drop I could find. The other creatures in the deck are all pretty self-explanatory; they all make Treasure Tokens.

Tezzeret the Schemer is pretty damn good here, too. Most games, by the time he hits the board, there are enough tokens on the field for him to take out any threat the opponent may have. Aside from that, creating Etherium tokens is pretty useful as well, even though they don't count towards the overall win con. If you can -8 him, you can start swinging pretty heavily with 5/5 tokens.

Vraska, Relic Seeker is an obvious choice here. She can defend herself with pirate tokens, take out multiple types of threats while making token, and pretty much win the game on her own if uninterrupted. I would have more copies of her in here, but I was trying to keep the price somewhat reasonable. I might just say "screw it" and throw another in because she's so damn good.

Fiery Cannonade is pretty awesome removal, especially against more aggro heavy decks that sport smaller creatures. All the creatures in this deck are pirates, so there is no risk to our side of the board.

treasure map kind of speaks for itself. Helps us sort through our deck and eventually gives us a fair number of tokens.

pirate's prize for more treasure and card draw. Not sure if this is really better than Opt or Chart a Course considering the extra mana.

Trove of Temptation can be a really good way to churn out tokens. Forcing creatures to attack you isn't always a bad thing, and most of the time your opponent is going to do it anyway.

In the sideboard I have some basic counter-spells and a little more removal. Wily Goblin seems like it could be good, which is why I have him here. I haven't decided if it will have a permanent home in the deck. Contract Killing is expensive, but hey, more treasure. The only thing that I think I might add later to the sideboard is some targeted discard, like Duress and Doomfall.

That's pretty much it! I don't know how great this is in a competitive sense, but it's a lot of fun to play. I would really appreciate any suggestions anyone might have!

Updates Add

Decided to go with Mechanized Production and remove Revel in Riches. Threw in Marionette Master for another explosive win con. Moved Fiery Cannonade to the sideboard, added Duress to the sideboard too, added Heartless Pillaging for some hand hate and extra treasure creation. Removed Ruthless Knave and added a few Wily Goblins and an additional Sailor of Means. Lastly, added another Vraska, because she's awesome.
