My strange
Demonic Pact
control deck.
The battle plan is as follows:
Stall out the game using kill spells like Ultimate Price and counterspells like Silungar's Scorn.
The main attraction of the deck is
Demonic Pact
. This card isn't the win condition, but leads towards it. The pure value that can be squeezed out of this card is disgusting. In most cases, the first cast of it will be used for removal, and from there on, you should be using it to generate card advantage. Using bounce effects you will be able to return the pact to your hand or bounce threats from your opponent. This can be used with
Despise
to remove creatures and planeswalkers alike.
The win condition is
Silumgar, the Drifting Death
. The hexproof makes it very sticky as well as it has 7 toughness. This makes it a strong blocker. Dragonlord Silumgar can sometimes be a finisher, but usually an opponent will have a kill spell waiting. This can be avoided by playing him when an opponent is in top deck mode.
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
is plan B. Playing this card early can be a bad plan because opponents will likely be able to kill it with kill spells. Late game however, an opponent will likely discard their kill spells because I don't have any targets. When he flips into Jace, Telepath Unbound
, I can "flashback" certain cards like Dig Through Time as well as bounce effects for
Demonic Pact
.
Let me know if there are any changes I should make.
