Blue White Control (Kaladesh standard)

Standard Competitive Control WU (Azorius)

amhood

Sideboard

This is my take on Blue/White control. I have been play testing this deck since the Monday after Kaladesh pre-release. I feel it has been extremely successful online and in paper. I have played it in 1 FNM going 3-0, Won game day 5-0-1 and have lost few games in play test. I'm not sure if it is just being overlooked by the pros or if I just haven't really had good opponents but I am going to be using this for TCG States in hopes of doing well.

I know there are only 13 sideboard cards in this deck but I honestly can't think of what to put in them. Currently I have a Negate and Fumigate in their place even though I feel like something in the next set will probably take their spot.

I find that the only decks this one has a hard time to deal with are super aggro decks but even they don't seem fast enough. I will definitely update this once TCG States happens and I get a chance to play with a bunch of people but right now this deck seems to just run over people. Only thing I'd like people to know about this deck is don't be afraid to make the right play even if it means you go down to a low life. The aggro decks will take you to 5 and below really fast but you can stabilize and now worry about taking damage again. Also, Dovin Baan is best when you have about 7 mana free so you can leave open a counter spell or kill spell. I've been told he seems like a win more card and I can guarantee you he is exactly the card this deck wants to crawl out of a tight spot.

TCG STATES (10/29/2016): This weekend was not a very good test of the deck. Not sure how but managed to get stuck on 3 land on about half the games I played which is weird. Running 26 lands I should not get stuck on 3 lands statistically. Only 1 of my rounds were actually good and no mana issues. Seems like the deck is having some issues with Grixis Control decks game one but is a little more balanced game 2 and 3 but after sideboard it is about a 50/50 chance of winning. Really depends on who draws better.
