3-1 @ FNM —Feb. 10, 2018

3-1 at FNM with this build. Getting better with the deck. The one loss was to Jund, which should be a good match up for me but, good and seasoned players are the ones that play Jund and I made a few noob mistakes, including but not limited to using my Trinket Mage to fetch Expedition Map while I had a Chalice of the Void on 1. Either way, I think with some more practice and time, I'll be going 4-0.

I feel like Summary Dismissal is there for storm. There is an arguably better version in the form of Mindbreak Trap since it can be cast for free, so you can then hold up your counterspells if they try to have any kind of protection.

How has Walking Ballista done for you?

Pheardemons I like that card, I haven't seen it before. I think here I would keep Summary Dismissal for matches against Storm and the absurd amount of Eldrazis in my local meta. Nothing more satisfying than a smug opponent attempting to cast Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and watching it go bye bye, haha.

As for the Walking Ballista it has it's uses and I find it much better with a Trinket Mage in the deck but it's one of the first things to get sided out in a lot of match ups.

Thanks for your suggestion. I may pick up a play set of Mindbreak Trap for testing purposes.

Fair enough on the Summary Dismissal. I saw your argument on Sundering Titan on another Blue tron deck, and was giving it some thought as to whether or not I wanted to take mine out. I'm looking for a replacement to playtest. Karn Liberated, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, maybe Walking Ballista, looking for another endgame beater. Which is why I came to your deck to see what you play.

Any suggestions? I wouldn't mind a little feedback on my deck whenever you get the time.

Counters, Wurmcoil, Titan, then Ugin. Beat that.

Pheardemons I too have been wondering how to fill that slot. I think a second Wurmcoil Engine is always a great addition. Either that or a second Mindslaver depends how important the lock is to your play style.

I'm also open to suggestions for that.

I actually already play two Wurmcoil Engines. I'm a little more aggressive than your deck, but with utility. I play Thought-Knot Seers and one Endbringer (in testing) with one Kozilek, the Great Distortion. Just as late game things for my opponent to deal with. They either have trouble with my control aspect, or my beater aspect. I've been trying to find a way to add a Karn Liberated or an Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, but I also have quite a few end game beaters. I've been pondering on finding another control card, but adding in just one Engineered Explosives or Chalice of the Void seems awkward. I don't know, just putting my thoughts out there.

I've stopped playing the second Mindslaver. Everyone already brings in land and artifact hate against us. I'd rather either side in control, or have another beater or answer mainboard. Just my opinion on that one.

Pheardemons can you link your deck? I'm always curious about other builds. As for Karn Liberated I always thought he was a little too slow if you aren't using Tron by turn 3 or 4. Also you can't tutor him out.

I linked my deck in a previous comment, but I'll link it again for you.

Counters, Wurmcoil, Titan, then Ugin. Beat that.

I actually just changed quite a bit, whether or not you click the link before I make an update comment we'll see. Let me know what you think. I'm also always looking at other builds to see if other people have found things I've never thought of. I'm still on the fence for Field of Ruin, but I'm willing to playtest.

Pheardemons Sorry was a work, didn't get to look all the way through all your tags in the last post.

I like your mix up. You're right, its a more aggro version of mine. Makes me want to run an Mono Blue Eldrazi Tron Deck.

As for the Field of Ruin, I love it. In my opinion it's stronger than Ghost Quarter and Tectonic Edge because it doesn't give them any land advantage. I think most folks play only 1 but I like having 2 over a 9th Island since I can just tutor for an Island with it and its the only card I have that can deal directly with opposing man lands.

I'd been toying with the idea of the Platinum Emperion how are you liking it in the place of Platinum Angel?

Pheardemons Just threw this together in about 3 minutes after looking at your deck. Mono Blue Eldrazi Tron.

I wonder if this would hold water at my LGS

I'll comment on the Blue tron eldrazi deck. As for here, Platinum Emperion has been pretty amazing. I will admit to VERY rare occasions where a turn three Platinum Angel has saved the game, but it wasn't enough to truly consider. The 8th mana can be a little slower, but the overall advantage in the meta at the moment is definitely worth it. I've talked to others who have not liked it because it was 8 mana, so I'd say playtest to see how you like it. There were too many games where people simply got my life total below 0 then just waited to draw an answer.

I'll playtest Field of Ruin, still skeptical, but always willing to improve.
