I have made a similar EDH deck which includes a lot of permanents that have infect(or that give infect), but my playgroup doesn't want me to play with it. So I tried to make a new one without infect and it feels like something is missing.

Counters are placed on permanents and I proliferate them. My commander helps me to protect my creatures from spells/abilities.
