Maybeboard

Creature (99)

BLS stands for Battalion, Legion, Squadron. Basically they are the same card. It's an indirect engine that works around probabilities: like fetch-lands we use BLS-cards to thin our library to increase the probability to draw something better.

PROS:

  • Heavy draw manipulation
  • Board control
  • Recycle

CONS:

  • You'll going to shuffle ALOT (seriously, if you are going to play it physically you need practice to reduce your shuffle timing)

what's new:

Things to know of Squadron Hawk , Legion Conquistador and Battalion Foot Soldier :

  • ideally they are EXTREMELY good at thinning your deck (basically playing each of them counts like playing 3 fetch lands in 1 turn).
  • they sucks really bad singularly with pratically no evasion and bad base stats.

Deck thinning is powerful but how i can use them efficently? the best use i found for them is to:

  1. use them as "money" to pay alternate cost of Sunscour and Force of Virtue .
  2. mainly blockers while you set up your hand ( Sunscour ) or draw ( Terminus ).

Elixir of Immortality exists here cause we can have hand advantage mid-late game playing one single squadron like creature.

Main attackers:

  1. Gideon of the Trials , dodges terminus, immune to sunscour, prevent damage and create pressure with emblem forcing opponent to attack him.
  2. Haunted Plate Mail is self explanatory, dodges terminus and sunscour (activate him LAST!).
  3. Narset Transcendent not really a win con but synergizes well with scouting, miracle and can rebound for heavy control.

Sage of Epityr over Martyr of Sands for more aggressive scouting, martyr over sage if you want/need more survavibility.

Each squadron like creatures can shuffle you library even if you have all of them in hand or on the battlefield because you can search for up to 3 which means between 0 and 3.

+1 if you liked it, thanks. comments appreciated! Have fun.
