Blood Drive (Infinite Combo—s!)

Strangelove's Blood Drive

Originally was led to merging all of these combos browsing Daily MTG trying to break Driver of the Dead :

Driver of the Dead + Phantasmal Image + Grimgrin, Corpse-Born or Bloodthrone Vampire creates an infinite Grimgrin or Vampire. deCordova explains it very well in his article,

Grimgrin, Corpse-Born + Bloodline Keeper  Flip + Necrotic Ooze creates an infinite Ooze. This takes me back to Gigatoast's infinite-ooze-updated-for-avr, which inspired a few variations of my own and clued me in to this combo (which many of you might also know).

(+ Blood Artist for an instant win.)

Civilized Scholar  Flip + Phantasmal Image or Necrotic Ooze creates a very efficient draw engine. Because the copy is not a physical double-faced card, it cannot transform, but its ability still tries to do as much as possible. I use this combo to get my other two winning combos very quickly (often they'll get played the same turn ftw).

Comments and suggestions for surviving meta appreciated.

Don't forget to +1 if you dig the combos.

@ lalala, Bloodline Keeper  Flip and Driver of the Dead do the same thing.

awesome deck. I had this brilliant idea while playtesting it. If you were to switch out Bloodline Keeper for Falkenrath Noble, same cmc, the combo will have a greater chanceof wiping out an opponent without even having to attack. pretty awesome right? +1

Thanks! But if I take out Bloodline Keeper  Flip I lose my infinite ooze combo :( Besides, Bloodline Keeper  Flip + Vampires + Phantasmal Image can give me a Lord of Lineage  Flip  Flip turn 5, which has won me a few games. I really have only been losing to mono-b cruel control.

Thanks Long_Con, I saw on Cockatrice Driver of the Dead with Vexing Devil , which I thought looked like fun so I started browsing possibilities . . . If Driver of the Dead was ETB, it'd be much better.

Ooo, I was looking for a larger cohesive deck involving Vexing Devil and Torpor Orb ... maybe I'll throw the Driver into the mix!

I've seen people posting that combo, there's an article by Gavin Verhey with a bunch of sick decks, one of them is a Torpor Orb deck (

You're definitely right though: Driver of the Dead may be a piece to that puzzle. Time to try it out :)

Nice deck idea! Having some more counter spells in your sideboard can always help. Negate and Dissipate come to mind.
