With 8 2cmc cards and 10 3cmc cards, I'm not sure if mana leak is the best fit for this deck. Unless you are purposely delaying yourself, you are going to be tapped out early on when mana leak is most effective.
With people packing so much sideboard artifact hate, you might want to consider Buried Ruin to get your swords back.
Let me just say, good god, man! You have full playsets of 3 swords?! That's sooo much money! Geeez
@HoneyBadger, what do you suggest for counter magic? I chose leaks for the early game removal. My scenario of choice would be to drop a Sword on turn five, equip, and attack. In my opinion, the real power of this deck comes from the consistency of card functionality and in the sideboard.
Ok, so you are just playing this differently than I imagined. If you are sitting back in the early game to control, then dropping creatures and swords, mana leak should be fine. I was focusing on getting the creatures and swords out as fast as possible. If you aren't sitting back and controlling early game, Dissipate is a stronger late game counterspell. Regardless, it's important to remember that a lot of the tribal aggro decks will be running Cavern of Souls as you are, in which case counter spells are much less helpful.
I hate suggesting completely different deck ideas, but I've never met anyone who as ALL the swords, so I'd never suggest this particular deck because it costs soo much, but it is such a damn good deck that I have to. It's a speed blade deck. You run like, 12 mana dorks and as many swords as you can. Go turn 1 land, mana dork, turn 2 land, sword. turn 3 equip and raise hell. It is so powerful, it makes me squirm a little. Food for thought
Body and Mind is the weakest sword by far. I'd rather main more Feast and Famine and War and Peace, or possibly run Phyrexian Metamorph . Cuts down on your protection range, but I feel the consistency and power increase would more than make up for it.
I would choose infect or non-infect, so you don't lose games with the opponent at 4 life and 8 poison
Inkmoth Nexus is utter amazing, much more useful than the Caverns against most of the field. Mutagenic Growth is also pretty damn good at helping your guys survive burn and at getting those last couple of points of damage in.
I second making it either Infect or regular damage. If you decide to cut the infect stuff I'd recommend Latch Seeker, it is unblockable already and the Swords should help it stay alive longer than it usually does.
I like the deck. I would go regular damage.Swap 4x Cryptoplasm for your Blighted Agent , maybe put something like 4x Master of the Pearl Trident , or Cemetery Reaper use something like that with the Cryptoplasm for the boost. If you did the Cemetery Reaper you could use Army of the Damned maybe make it a zombie deck..... Or put like 2 or 3 Phyrexian Obliterator and copy him.
infect or normal. choose one. take out that Blighted Agent or make the rest infect.
To make it completely regular damage would require a complete reworking of the deck. Removing the Tormented Soul for another Infect creature on the other hand is probably a good idea. Necropede is probably the strongest option, but Plague Stinger fits best with the Unblockable theme, flying being a strong type of evasion. I'd also consider sideboarding Whispering Specter as it's ability to wreck a control player's hand is not to be underestimated.
