Blink Lock

Standard* Birthing Pod

Daveyhavok06 Score: 2

See something different? Among other things, no blue! After playing in the Albuquerque PTQ, reading comments on this deck, and also reading some articles on Pod decks, I went with this update to the deck. A more dominating board presence and quicker domination is the result.

Althought Venser, the Sojourner can be a very dominating card, he is fairly slow. By the time i could get him out and effective i was dead. So there goes the blue.

Also, an aspect of the "Lock", in Blink Lock is gone. Phyrexian Unlife and Melira, Sylvok Outcast have been removed. The additions add speed to the deck. I think that the speed advantage outweighs the previous control advantages.

So there it is. I touched on the most important changes but there are more! Playtest and Comment!

I play tested this deck against a PTQ Top 8 Delver deck which was the general style for Delver. To make a long story short, Blink Lock will take the games into later turns (usually 14-20) as any control deck will, then prevail. Only the fastest decks have come out on top so far and thats if Blink Lock comes out slower than molasses in January.

a great sideboard card to think about would be Nevermore . think about it with venser :) it's also a great way to protect your Phyrexian Unlife , as well (say, name Oblivion Ring and most white decks are pretty much at a loss to remove... any of your threats)

cool deck, +1
