This is the Last Skithyrix List you will ever need. It wins fast and can play through many threats.

No, I don't use Hatred. It's too much mana for what it does. I don't need it to do +19 power. The only power bonuses that Skittles needs are +1, +2 or +6. Howl from Beyond does the first two cheaper and the last one for only slightly more. Hatred is only better in the corner case when you cast Skittles for 5 mana and untap and attack next turn, exposing yourself to sorcery-speed removal.

For +1 power, use Power Matrix and Cathedral of War.

For +2 power, use Funeral Charm.

For +6 power, use Lashwrithe or Liliana of the Dark Realms or Howl from Beyond. Unspeakable Symbol can also be deployed before Skittles so it costs you no mana on the turn it is activated.

All of the modes of Funeral Charm get used in this deck, giving 2 extra poison counters for a 2-turn kill with Skittles, killing a 1-toughness creature, giving an infector swampwalk (unblockable with Urborg in play), and forcing a discard when nothing else is relevant.

I think of Necromancy as a spell to cheat the Commander tax. Opponents will be puzzled when you let skittles die instead of command zoning him. It can also be used instantly against an opponent's reanimation spell as a graveyard hoser, stealing their reanimation target right from under them!

Fearsome Awakening also cheats the commander tax and adds the exact number of counters needed for Skittles to kill in a second hit! I would play with both it and Necromancy, but only one reanimation is needed, as it can be tutored for. Necromancy can be tutored and cast in the same turn for less mana.

Pithing Needle is there to stop Derevi, Empereal Tactician, as her recursion ability is an activated ability. With the needle, she needs to be hard-cast, and you might be able to hold her off for long enough.

Maze of Ith is dealt with using Lightning Greaves, Strip Mine, Tectonic Edge and Unstable Obelisk.

Surestrike Trident also bypasses blockers, Maze, and Derevi, but it's sitting on the sidelines for now.

I will pick up a Wasteland and perhaps a Sinkhole when VMA comes out in paper.
