Black Sol (Black/White Approach)

Standard* Casual Control Creatureless Discard

Sideboard

The Black Sun demands many sacrifices.

Luckily, your opponent has lots of cards! All ripe for the sacrificing!

This is my twist on the U/W Approach deck. I would appreciate any and all advice!

The goal is to delay the opponent long enough to play Approach of the Second Sun twice for the win using black discard and sac spells.

It has the advantage of learning the opponent's hand with Duress, Harsh Scrutiny, Lay Bare the Heart and Doomfall and these spells remove cards from the opponent's hand. I put 2 Duress and 2 Harsh Scrutiny and depending on the opponent I might trade 2 of them out for the other 2.

Unburden made it's way in because it causes 2 discards if you can play it before top-decking starts, and it can be cycled otherwise. The other draw card I have is Live Fast (suggested by Freezingfist)

Doomfall also doubles as a removal. Fatal Push and Walk the Plank are good early removal spells. Settle the Wreckage is in as emergency removal for later game, but I'm wondering if Fumigate would be better for this deck? It costs one mana more and isn't an instant, but doesn't let them ramp up and gives me life.

Torment of Hailfire is my second win-con and it puts pressure on the other player to discard or clear the board. I removed Torment of Scarabs from the deck, but this may be a bad idea?

Two Never / Return are in to deal with plainswalkers that get through the discarding. I considered Vraska's Contempt, but an instant for an extra mana seemed high when plainswalkers usually require some build up to be scary, so a sorcery should be fine? (Plus I already have two Nevers and Vraska's a little pricey)

I went 2-2 at the last fnm. That doesn't sound to bad, except the decks I won against weren't very good either, and I lost one game in each of those match ups.

One thing this highlighted was the drastic need for draw cards. I don't own Live Fast but it's going to be a must. It also makes me consider Diabolic Tutor or Razaketh's Rite for the cycle. Treasure Map  Flip also looks promising with it's scry and ramp potential, even if it only ramps one approach.

One suggestion I got was to sideboard creatures because most people will sideboard out creature responses after the first round.
