- 4x Ammit Eternal
- 4x Festering Mummy
- 3x Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons
- 4x Obelisk Spider
- 4x Walking Ballista
- 4x Winding Constrictor
I like your build and strategy. It's not the same direction I've seen other -1/-1 BG decks going.
Heroic Intervention is probably a solid sideboard option against an opponent's sweepers to protect your hoarde.

djnewellmit That's a great Idea, I completely forgot about this card.

This looks nice indeed. Winding constrictor seems soo weird here, but indeed it's interesting with nest of scarabs. Nissa, voice of zendikar is just hilarious here...+1 from me for sure.

The best way that I could find to beat that card is Saving Grace. Only one creature dies that way.
It's a very cool deck! I like all the synergy. Nest of Scarabs seems like it would be fun to play.

I don't understand how Winding Constrictor is going to help with the -1/-1 counter aspect, but I can see how it will do extremely well with Nissa's -2 ability.

rottenoysters: As far as I see this, constrictor also increases the number of -1/-1 counters put onto his creatures. They die A LOT easier this way, but nest of scarabs puts out a bug for every single counter placed...so, for example, if your opponents cast a spell while you have ammit eternal, winding constrictor and nest of scarabs, the nest already produced two bugs. Also, the ammit already is at the point where your opponent is led to decide to leave it unblocked because it does three damage no matter what. It seems weird to me as well, but I really like this way of using constrictor.
Oh, by the way: You want Ammit to have trample...it is just so ridiculous that way.

rottenoysters I see you have not played against the Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Winding Constrictor combo adding one or more Nest of Scarabs makes it insane. My opponent, and bad luck kept, me creatureless so he could swing in with Hapatra place the -1/-1 counter from Hapatra's damage on his own 1/1 snake, but the Winding Constrictor makes this two counters so he got two 1/1 snakes for the price of one. Then Nissa, Voice of Zendikar is there to give all his creatures lots of +1/+1 counters so they don't have to die just get smaller.

Zooby9, you are probably thinking of Hour of Revelation, which is the White 'destroy all nonland permanents' from this set. Hour of Devastation is the red sorcery that deals 5 damage to all creatures and planeswalkers. Saving Grace works against Devastation (but not Revelation) by redirecting the 5 damage from each creature and planeswalker you control to the single target of the enchantment.

I find this list to be intriguing. I have built a Jund version utilizing The Scorpion God and Glorybringers to close the game out. The Winding Constrictor + Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons is an interesting piece of tech, but after reading through the comments, it should not trigger twice unless you are putting the -1/-1 counters on a creature you control, Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons reads that "one or more counters are placed", you get a snake. So having the Winding Constrictor put a second counter on your creature with only a Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons in play doesn't really do you any good. I understand the synergy with the Nest of Scarabs, but Hapatra seems like a big non-bo. I just feel like the deck is doing too many battling things at once to really be as effective as I'd like it to be. I'll keep an eye out, I'm curious to see how your results look with the list.

LordMithos: Read the nest properly. It triggers whenever any number of counters is placed, but then it creates "that many" tokens. So constrictor works with nest, but not with hapatra.

I'm lost as to what Winding Constrictor offers this deck. The ability only procs when the -1/-1 counters are placed upon your creatures (i.e. Ammit Eternal & Walking Ballista). I seriously doubt we want Ammit to die faster nor would we place Hepatra's counters on our creatures. So... I'd swap out the constrictor and ballista since they have little synergy with the deck.

I have not tested this deck so I may be wrong with some or all of this.
Winding Constrictor works with just three cards in a positive way Walking Ballista, Nest of Scarabs and Nissa, Voice of Zendikar. Only Nest of Scarabs gets a boost in a round about way when targeting your own creatures with spells and effects putting -1/-1 counters on your own creatures.
Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and Nest of Scarabs provide chump blockers and targets to dump -1/-1 counters on that will be replaced with the same or more creatures. In the case where you don't gain creatures you may still want to do this in order to drain all opponents for 1 life and gain 1 yourself with Obelisk Spider but I still think you are better off just hitting opposing creatures with it, unless you have a play set of Obelisk Spider out.
Winding Constrictor just ruins Ammit Eternal and his nice combo with Obelisk Spider, or at least in my opinion. It just makes it too easy to kill him off. If the deck contained a way to give Ammit Eternal evasion of some sort; say Key to the City. He could get rid of all the counters, but he is still too easy to kill off with a couple of spells.
