Creature (2)

Deck idea is pretty simple! Play land, draw cards, play creatures!

This deck wants to play big creatures, like Heroes' Bane and Hydra Broodmaster, fairly quickly. It has several ways to do this.

1) Mana Dorks: This is fairly straightforward. Play an Elvish Mystic or Sylvan Caryatid and tap for manas. Or with lots of devotion, use Karametra's Acolyte to pump up your Hydra Broodmaster or Heroes' Bane

2) Tokens: This deck does like some tokens. Hornet Nest, Hornet Queen, and Hydra Broodmaster all make some fun tokens. The Broodmaster combos well with the ramp in the deck. The Hornet Nest combos well with Setessan Tactics. Both Hornet creatures give flying protection/general protection. Plus they are fliers.

3) Polukranos, World Eater + Bow of Nylea combo. Have both cards on the battlefield. Declare Polukranos attack. Make Him monsterous. Deal one damage to all of opponents creatures. The deathtouch applies and all creatures die, possibly even Polukranos, but hey, he died a martyr. Board clear.

4) Nylea, God of the Hunt . This decks plays a lot of big Hydras! Nylea gives them all trample! Not all games will you have a 10/10 Hydra on the attack being chump blocked by that 1/1 Goblin token, but when it does happen, bring this for the extra 9 Damage. Plus its a 6/6 as a Creature... and it can give another creature +2/+2.

Win Conditions - Beat them down

This deck is real fun to play. You just need to make sure your starting hand is what you need. It's IDEAL to start 2x Forest, 1x Elvish Mystic, 1x Sylvan Caryatid, and 1x Courser of Kruphix. Chances are that wont happen, so starting with the 2 Forests and then 2 of those 3 cards is usually good.

I went 2 (Wins) - 2 (Loss) - 1 (Tie) so far with this.

Hail, Hydra! Immortal Hydra! We shall never be destroyed! Cut off a limb, and two more shall take its place! We serve none but the Master as the world shall soon serve us! Hail Hydra!

Updates Add

After playing around with some proxies for Nylea, God of the Hunt, Bow of Nylea, and Nessian Wilds Ravager, I decided to traded out for the following: 2x Titanic Growth, 1x Heroes' Bane, 1x Aspect of Hydra, and 2x Mistcutter Hydra. The reason is because there is not a lot of Blue spells going around to make the Mistcutter Hydra feel worth it with it's ability. The Heroes Bane felt like it came up to much to and like I kept holding 2 extra Heroes' Banes when I was casting one. Aspect of Hydra was a sacrifice in order to get the Nessian Wilds Ravager into the deck, but the tribute decision and forcing the opponent to make a decision felt like the right choice since the creature is already beefy for it's tribute ability. I also updated the side deck for flier and enchantment removal. There is also some hexproof cards in there.

I took this deck to FNM tonight and went 2-2-1 (W-L-T). The T was due to time and would have ended in my favor (we presumed).
