A brew I came up with while messing with my inverter of truth deck. This deck follows the combo of using the torpor orb to bring out the big, low mana-cost creatures without the nasty side-effects but goes budget by making it mono-black turning a $300 deck into a $30-$50 deck! However, the big changes between the two decks are the mono-black's addition of phyresis and tainted strike. That's right, making the big nasty creatures into even nastier hitters with infect! Add a tainted strike to an attacking Eater of Days (which has flying) and you have an instant kill of 10 infect! The 3 big creatures in this deck either have flying or trample or both, so chances of getting enough damage (either normal or infect) will finish the game quickly.

The addition of Desecreation Demon instead of inverter of truth still continues with the plan in case of the orb being destroyed and also if torpor orb was destroyed while inverter of truth is on the stack pretty much seals our own fate. This deck also allows better synergy with the multiple targets that Shred Memory can hit depending on the situation. The targets include the much needed Torpor Orb, Hunted Horror, Victim of Night, and Phyresis. For back up, I still have two copies of Beseech the Queen to hit pretty much any card I need which makes it a total of 10 cards that are either Torpor Orb or fetch a Orb.

Note: the list shown is the most budget friendly. This deck can easily replace duress with inquisitions or thoughtseizes.
