mtg, mtg cards, magic the gathering, gaming, geeks
The Green/Black version of my old deck The Blackness.I really love the synergy of some of the cards, using mutilate can sometimes be so beneficial with Deathrite Shaman in hand, he alone stops undying creature and prevents flashback.
The Desecration Demon is meant to be a threat magnet, causing your opponent to either sac creatures (could be little things, but oh well...morbid triggers)
Vraska the Unseen isnt meant to be a game changer, but i do like the idea of having her out and causing some pain for your opponent.
I know it's a bit situational, but have you thought of running an card:Avacyn's Collar or card:Akroma's Memorial to give Desecration Demon vigilance? If you had Jarad on the field you could go sac happy with Akroma's to swing for the win. Just a thought.
It is an interesting setup if you had several things on the field, enter attack phase, sac geralf, give desecration demon a counter, sac geralf with jarad's ability deal 4damage to each player...8/7 vigilance(collar equiped), Essence Harvest for the win? or just sac 7/7 demon for an 18dmg fling/swing, and sign in blood them for funsies.
I really like this combination and kind of want to run a variant of it with some 1 drops like arbor elfs for mana ramp
I have thought about abusing Desecration Demon before. My inital idea was something like
Turn 1: Forest + Arbor Elf
Okay...zach7, sorry I just started playing magic literally a month ago for my first time. My friends got all bonered up about the new block coming out and got me into it, so I am still learning.
So to clear things up a bit, how does vigilance actually work? I thought when something had vigilance it doesn't tap to attack, and doesn't fall victim to things like card:Gideon's Lawkeeper. So in essence, would what Toxonic mentioned above, talking about using Spidery Grasp to cause it to untap, not actually work either?
Sorry just very confused after I was taught how vigilance worked, now it seems to get all mixed up on me.
Vigilance means that it doesnt tap to attack, correct. However, other things that cause tapping (card:Gideon's Lawkeeper and the demons ability) still happen. But once it has been tapped, using something like Spidery Grasp can untap it, just like flicking a switch.
You''ll get the hang of it all soon enough, ive only been playing since about March and i make similar errors sometimes, but its all a learning process
