Hey everyone, I decided I would make a mono green modern bear tribal deck that is super casual. It wont win tournaments any time soon but in a casual setting it can hold it's own against other creative casual decks. I'm open to any changes or ideas provided that they abide by my rule of keeping to the flavor/tribe aspect and the modern aspect, other than that I would love to see the directions this deck could go in.
This is deck I have constructed that is all about pushing this joke of a tribe to its peak, within the confines of my rules that it is a mono green bear deck and that it is modern legal. I understand that this is a deck that is completely unplayable in a competitive format, but I still want to see how good this simple Tribal deck can get as a casual concept.
The deck revolves around using bears for the main form of offense and defense with the llanowar elves added for mana purposes, the ashcoat bear is a cheap bear with flash which is nice. The grizzly, runeclaw and alpine bear are vanilla creatures that get use out of the muraganda petroglyphs. The familiar buffs other bears to get there power to 4 or greater so that goreclaws second and possibly first ability kicks in. Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma is of course the Queen of bears and must be incorporated somehow, the fact the she also has good abilities is a bonus.
Giant is an good card with even better art and flavor so it's a must. Rampant growth is for mana, simple enough. Lead the stampede is to put more creatures into your hand.
Utopia sprawl is also for extra mana. I decided to add beastmaster ascension since achieving seven counters seemed like a possible goal as a way to win with large creatures. Muraganda petroglyphs is just to buff the bears that are vanilla creatures.
As for the lands I can only see 20 forests being necessary for this deck.
If there are any changes that anyone could see to make this deck good while still keeping with the tribe aspect, it would be stellar to hear the suggestions.
