So I wanna be a nice guy, but I can't help with all my fatty fats. This is the deck that makes makes people go like, "Oh Howling Mine yay!" to "Ach, Hans run! It's Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite!"

I guess you could say the "bear" in bear hugs is because there's a few hatebears, but mainly because I like group hug, with big, fat, fatties.

Introduction (again!)

Let me just say, Karametra is a super fun commander. Her ability for when you cast a creature enables lots of fun shenanigans, and lands-matter decks are always fun to play! Bonus since this deck also is a Timmy deck, and you get huge creatures too! I chose Karametra over other GW commanders due to how synergistic she is with the other 99 cards.

Deckbuilding Philosophy

Karametra is the god of harvests. This is usually associated with farms, who work to help others by providing while making a living. This deck aims to do so by implementing group hug effects that also benefit me.

However, being the Johnny/Spike that I actually am, I obviously have to take first somehow! This is achieved via ramping into large creatures that can produce tokens or create effects that allow me to win through combat. No infinite combos, however, because this deck is meant to be fun for everyone.

As I may or may have not mentioned above, I built this mainly out of card So a I already had lying around in my collection, they were acquired without having to sink money into the deck haha.

It is currently going to be around $100, but I'll be upgrading the cards as time goes on. Just a side note, jeezus my EDH decks are getting quite expensive haha.

Keeping to the Philosophy...

It is important to keep to this deck's philosophy: help out others, and reap those benefits in the end. I will not be including any infinite combos as a means of winning, nor remake this into an enchantress build because all you see is Karametra Enchantress when you see Karametra, and it's more fun to try new things rather than the old.

There are a few 1-card means of winning, once with a developed boardstate haha:

• Beastmaster Ascension

• Overwhelming Stampede

• Genesis Wave

• Thunderfoot Baloth

• True Conviction

• Shaman of Forgotten Ways

• Odric, Lunarch Marshal

The main means of winning is through Genesis Wave, because you just get a nasty board state from just a sneeze.

There is one combo, which is Sakura-Tribe Elder + Emeria Shepherd. You sac Elder to put a Plains out triggering Shepherd, then returning Elder with Shepherd to pull all Plains from your deck. Coupled with a card like Rampaging Baloths, this makes for a very powerful combo.
