First off, thank you for taking the time to check out my list.
This is my take on a Legacy Delver List. Its a raw tempo deck, designed to disrupt the opponents early plays. It reminds me somewhat of the old-school mono blue aggro lists.
The reason its mono blue is to make use of
Back to Basics
, which i consider to be pretty powerful in the current meta. There are just a lot of three color decks in legacy that
Back to Basics
really just shuts down. And as long as you are only playing basic
Island
you are able to just keep playing your game.
Brainstorm
gets much more powerful if you have a way to remove the cards from the top of your library, where
Ponder
and Fetchlands come into play. In addition
Brainstorm
and
Ponder
ensure your Delver of Secrets
to flip at the beginning of your next Upkeep.
Force of Will and company should not be missing in a mono blue deck. In my opinion Force of Will and
Daze
are the best options for tempo play in Legacy. You don't want to spend your 2nd or 3rd turn keeping your lands untapped just in case they play something you want to counter.
Side: The Deck is really good against combo Decks because of all the counters but a lot of the time the weenie Decks are causing trouble, because of something that sneaks underneath your counterwall in the early game. The SB can extend your advantage against combo by adding more countermagic, or it helps to go more anti-creature.
I still have some work to do especially on the SB. Maybe you guys have some helpful ideas.
