This week took 2nd place this week in a 3 round event at my LGS
Match One: Mono Green tron 1-2
Round 1: This match up was difficult i kept a nice had with 2 lands a Supreme Phantom and a Mausoleum Wanderer and 2 Path to Exile. once I realized hes on tron i start to cry. the first game was close but of course him dropping an Ugin i couldn't counter after dropping my lord so he would kill my board ended the game.
Round 2: After sided-boarding in my Damping Sphere and stone silence i had them both in my opening hand he scoops after not drawing a land with a one land hand he kept.
Round 3: like usual didn't have any tron hate and he dropped Ugin turn 3 and karn turn 4. i didn't even wanna try to come back from that.
Moral of the story if you don't have tron hate in your hand don't even try XD.
Match 2: 8 Rack 2-0
Round 1: opening hand was 3 lands 2 Supreme Phantom and a Drogskul Captain i drop 2 lords and then my hand was gone he kills my lords and i have no creatures no hands and 4 lands. Unfortunately he doesn't have one either i recover faster with a Moorland Haunt Using it to build and army of spirits with my one lord to finish the game.
Round 2: Had an okay hand 2 lands a lord and 2 Mausoleum Wanderer a path and CoCo. as usual i play my 2 drops then my hand is gone. With the 2 Wanderers i drew more spirits and beat him down before his affliction killed me never drew a rack.
This match up feels good he really didn't seem to have any control over what i was doing it sucked to top deck all my answers but i always drew them before he did.
Round 3: Jund 2-0
Round 1: started with nice hand a lord 2 spellqueller and 3 lands. Drew into a noble and i had spellqueller up for his liliana. He decided to thoughtseize me and take my lord we are on top deck game now and he drops a Scavenging Ooze top path and path it. he draws a Tarmogoyf i top a path kill him with damage.
Round 2: he gets a great start picking apart my hand then dropping 2 blood-braid elves. i top a collected company when he swings i use it top deck 2 lords which were both drogskuls and Kira which i boarded in for his removal. i take it because these need to live i have 8 health he bolts me to 5 and passes. i top deck another collected company i use it main turn and i get another lord which was the supreme phantom. He draws and swings i kill a elf and i call his bluff he didn't have bolt. swing for death next turn.
This match up is HARD you need to have your counters and removal to fight through his. collected company is a huge bonus but be careful he did sideboard in graft digger cage. he didn't get draw it though saving my whole plan. To counter this sideboard i took one out and put in Kira.
This week was a good mix of new match ups and it just shows that tron is still stupid XD
