Soulherder is the bread and butter of the deck however. It allows for all creatures in the deck to be utilized each turn if need be. With that in mind the deck is designed around Risen Reef 's elemental ETB synergy. Pair it with Arcane Adaptation declaring 'elemental' now every creature gets some sort of card advantage (either a land into play or a non land to hand).

Our control-esk package comes from Deputy of Detention and Fiend Hunter . Both deal with creature based threats and scale up Soulherder .

Knight of Autumn is the flex creature with lots of options stuck on a decent body.

Aven Riftwatcher is our turbo life gainer, nets life when it leaves and enters. Plus solid body for 3 mana.

Vesperlark lets us recur most of our creatures. Additionally combos nicely with deep forest druid in the yard (2 mana for 9 power, yes please!)

Our endgame involves either deep forest druid with a lot of squirrels (you can add in an Arcane Adaptation naming 'squirrel' for extra power to your whole board.) Or dropping Verdurous Gearhulk and bouncing it before combat with an Ephemerate .

Best case scenario, Risen Reef + Arcane Adaptation naming 'elemental' and evoking a Vesperlark to grab a deep forest druid from the yard. That nets you at least 6 elemental triggers on the reef (6 cards or lands to the battlefield), and 9 power for 2 mana if the other parts are already down before the lark.
