Goal was to make a midrange/control list winning the war of attrition and finishing with the Midnight Guard + Presence of Gond combo. Why this list (and not the typical tokens-focused list with soul sisters)? Midnight-Gond was never weak with combo assembled... The problem is all the bad cards played to make it stronger WHEN assembled. This deck is admittedly weaker when assembled but playing good cards the rest of the match is more than worth it imho. Previous attempt was gw and focused on bouncing Abundant Growth, which it also leveraged to fuel Aural Gnarlid. Because both combo pieces are 3 CMC...splashing blue to add Drift of Phantasms was the next logical step. 3 color manabase is admittedly greedy, but strong additions like Sea Gate Oracle and Coiling Oracle mixed with tutoring ability via transmute I believe are worth it.

Pros: Play strong cards the whole game (and not just cards that suck until you combo. Transmute for answers. Coiling Oracle feels strong AF for a card that sees little play.

Cons: Greedy mana. Against true control decks it can be hard to combo (against decks with strong control (and discard) it is best to side out combo pieces for Stormbound Geist and Pulse of Murasa ). Sometimes Coiling racle will put down an Ash Barrens when you'd rather use it to find other lands (can be remedied using your Kor Skyfisher).

Sideboard... ideally will be all 3 CMC silver bullets that can be searched via the Phantasms. You want things lik e Aura Flux and Holy Light because they are devastating in certain matches... but you don't need too many copies because they can be tutored via transmute. There are a lot of good 3 cmc answers in these colors so this is the least explored part of the list so far.

Hope you enjoy the list - help me make it better in the comments.

Thanks again

Brof.
