New spice —July 24, 2018

New cards get released and need to be tested. Other times, I feel like giving old cards another chance.

Adds: +Runic Armasaur, +Archon of Valor's Reach, +Negate, +Aura of Silence

Cuts: -Aura Shards, -Fauna Shaman, -Timetwister, -Kamahl, Fist of Krosa

Archon of Valor's Reach provides a potential new win-con lock by locking out Instants and then, through Sakashima the Impostor copying the Archon, locking out Sorceries. While this doesn't win on the spot, it provides a rather fast flying clock and denies almost all forms of interaction and tutors from our opponents. It turns off most of the format's win-cons. Archon synergizes with the stax plan and can be played proactively. Vigilance, as always, is a very relevant ability.

Have you considered running gaddock teeg in the main?

Gaddock Teeg, like any hatebear, is always a meta call.

The general cEDH meta is at a point where I don't feel like Teeg pulls his weight. That said, if you play against a lot of Teferi, untuned or non-Grixis control (due to clasms and the general efficiency of Lab Man-Consultation lines) decks, you might want to consider adding him back in.

How about using Steward of Solidarity Or Pride Sovereign Those are really nasty win more cards in derevi, since each turn they remain on board they will double the amount of creatures you have on board

Steward is a really interesting idea. I'd previously considered Pride Sovereign since it applies a lot more pressure but the vigilance on those tokens is super nice.

I'm also considering the new Archon of Valor's Reach as it is more obviously disruptive, has vigilance and pairs really nicely with Sakashima to lock out most opposing win-cons, but 6 mana is obviously a lot to ask.

I play dryad militant in my version... Very disruptive against LOTS of different builds

Djice77 Dryad Militant is fine as a meta call. It should probably be in my Maybeboard--I picked up a foil one a while back lol.

Don't you just love how much Arid Mesa is and your only basic land is a forest. Really cut it. Also the foil deal throws the price around a bit to much, but this is definitely a lovely deck

DINOSAURS65556 Could run a basic plains if you want but it doesn't really help cast much under Blood Moon. Arid Mesa fetches Tundra/Hallowed Fountain and Savannah/Temple Garden so it fixes all 3 colours. Seems worth running to me.

The list is my actual paper deck--foils, sets and alters included. Thus, I'm gonna keep that information around for the time being even if it's just for myself. :)
