An upgraded version of

Favorable Pirates (Ultra Budget <$15)

Standard Gim

utilizing a second color to help solve the issues the mono-colored version has with dealing with threats and remaining a threat as the game moves past turn 4 without hoping to topdeck Favorable Winds.

Ive chosen White to do this as it has great flyers and does a good job at dealing with the originals hardest matchups with lifelink and exile effects on top of the counters already present. The cost of doing so is the removal of the tribal synergy that allowed us to abuse Lookout's Dispersal and Dreamcaller Siren.

Since this version is not restricted by an extremely small budget, I have also included a sideboard with cards that will assist in matchups against the current top decks.

Amazing! This makes me almost want to not hate on standard!

Yeah. Ixalan really spiced things up. Rivals is looking to do more of the same.

Have you done any testing with this? If so, how good is Angel of Condemnation? I thought about running her in my build, but it seems like there's so much removal in the format that, without many ways to protect her, you're just storing your opponents creatures until later (or keeping them safe until a board wipe). How relevant is her first ability? It seems like you want to play out your threats and be aggressive, but at the same time, hold up mana for her ability? That feels counter productive. But again, I haven't tested with her, so if you have I'd be interested to hear.

I haven't tested but I'm not sure what I was thinking. It'd be better to just have another Cast Out and Angel of Invention. Thanks.

I've been tinkering with a VERY similar deck. I cut out all the 3 drop fliers though and included Skyship Plunderer (can boost Storm Fleet Aerialist), another Chart a Course and even 2 Reverse Engineer (may play more). I haven't play tested this yet, but I'm actually considering a 4 of for Ornithopter and adding another Reverse Engineering. Basically, load the board up as fast as I can, find as many Favorable Winds as possible, and hope I can overwhelm the opponent. Also, using Prepare//Fight for surprise removal/life gain/damage to the face and Unsummon to try and buy just a liiitle bit more time. Bottom line is everything is very low to the ground and flying out fast :).

Also, definitely sideboarding a full playset of solemnity.

I love this deck. I would make one, incredibly spicy change though. I would add Dowsing Dagger.

But what would you be using all that extra mana on? Maybe if you were running Esper you could slip in Torment of Hailfire but Im not sure it would be worth it personally.
