But keep them coming anyways!
Exactly. Currently, Akroma is the best card for it, but Khans has potential.

Ok because I was like how in the world is Akroma getting morphed. Yah khans could possibly bring out another addition.

I love this deck. There's not much KTK could add besides Flooded Strand . Ashcloud Phoenix might allow some shenanigans. Maybe Kheru Spellsnatcher or Thousand Winds could become real cards here. I hope Fate Reforged brings more morph.

The thing with morph is that I am never paying the morph cost for Akroma, Angel of Fury , I am only blinking it. Sagu Mauler is the only morph from khans in consideration but I like the fact the akroma has protection from my own deck. I am already playing 1 fetchland which will become Flooded Strand for sure. I prefer a lower land count than more lands and more fetches.
Glad you like the deck.

Ah yeah, sorry I missed that they had to be faced up. Ashcloud Phoenix could work anyways since it just won't die.

Pheonix is a decent card, but Akroma outclasses it every regard:
- Does not make me lose precious life points - this is a control deck and every point of life matters until I can control the field. If the pheonix also dealt 2 to every other creature as well, it would be a different story.
- The Angel is a finisher - between fetches, shocklands and earlier damage, it does not take more than 2-3 hits at most to kill off the opponent. The pheonix takes 1 turn more.
- Pheonix lacks protection. Pretty much the only removal capable of killing the Angel is Doom Blade and Maelstrom Pulse which is very lightly played. Evading Decay, Path and Bolt is key. The Pheonix dies to Gutshot and half an Electrolyze .
- If the pheonix dies, it comes back as a morph which is great. But without Planeswalker venser, I cannot keep flipping it back up every time, so it will stay a 2/2 for a long time.

How does he help the overall plan of the deck in any way?

Akroma has always been one of my favorite creatures. i really like the idea of flickering a morph card to get it face up much easier. I am gonna try and make a budget version of this if you don't mind :3
October 26, 2014 5:26 p.m.
Nefferean, please do so! The budget version includes the very cool engine of Leonin Relic-Warder + Reality Acid to lock up the game. The only necessary cards that are not budget are the angels (very optional, can be replaced) and the 2 Venser, the Sojourner . Everything else is entirely up to you. I will post a budget version for you soon.

Restoration Angel is way better than Flickerwisp in this deck
October 30, 2014 6:24 a.m.
Seriously, flickerwisp is better - "another permanent" > "another non-angel creature you control"

I assume you have already vetoed Deadeye Navigator, but I have found he can easily win the game. All in all, I really like the deck, and I love how you get akroma onto the battlefield. It seems pretty polished, so I don't have another suggestion. I tried play testing it, and it was a turn 4 akroma. It was awesome. +1

I think Krosan Cloudscraper is worth a mention. Granted it requires more than a splash and consistent mana needing to be payed but a 13/13 on turn 4 is kinda worth it...

Akroma is equally scary and I absolutely love that it has protection from my own deck. Splashing green is only worth it for 2 cards - Acidic Slime and Thragtusk.

At least splashing green is something to consider if you ever want to change things up a little bit xD

I really like these flicker decks. One things I am thinking of throwing into mine is Delusions of Mediocrity. Quick gain of 30 life.
January 7, 2015 11:57 a.m.
First, Delusions of Mediocrity is no Delusions of grandeur and I prefer to be grand rather mediocre. Second, it is not modern legal. Third, how do you gain life from this by flickering? Fourth, even if you could gain the life, it is really unnecessary. Life is just a resource, the only thing that matters is that it is greater than 0.

write into being or Soul Summons from Fate Reforged. Another way to get creatures on the battlefield faster!
January 9, 2015 7:54 a.m.
20/22 creatures in the deck have ETB abilities which do not gel with manifest. Keep the suggestions flowing though.
January 9, 2015 7:59 a.m.
yeah I know, I was thinking about manifest them and them blink them! I'll do it ;)
January 9, 2015 8:28 a.m.
Unless a good card with manifest comes out in azourious colors, I will not use the mechanic. It is a waste of precious deck space in this deck and has about 1/2 chance to do absolutely nothing (a land or an instant). That is way too much variability for me, though I see your point.

Always loved homebrewed modern decks. Cloudshift is a nice mechanic and i like how you built your deck around it! +1!

When you flicker a morphed card it comes back unmorphed?
