Mono Wizards!

Early game is all about the setup. Get a few wizards out, and get and keep out Azami, Lady of Scrolls, using counter magic and Lightning Greaves.

When you have the chance try to assemble the various combos bellow using some of the tutor toolkit:

The main idea of this deck is to create an engine to draw the entire deck, generate infinite mana, infinite drakes, and/or mill the decks of all opponents. This can be accomplished many ways.

Mind Over Matter acts as the basis of a discard/untap engine which can be utilized with:

There are numerous more that combine/interchange various cards from the above combos. At this point you can likely see the idea behind them. Since you can't always rely on getting Mind Over Matter there are a handful of replacements that can perform in the same position, but will alter the math in various combos:

The previous combos will let you lock down a board, generate infinite mana, draw your entire deck, or even generate infinite drake/elemental tokens. So, what do we do with this?

  • Laboratory Maniac is a simple win condition off drawing your deck.
  • Psychic Corrosion is another win condition off drawing your deck.
  • Supreme Inquisitor with 5 wizards on the board, any combo that causes endless untapping of your creatures will deck all opponents.
  • Blue Sun's Zenith infinite mana and card draw will decks all opponents. Thanks "shuffle into library" clause :)
  • Capsize infinite mana turns into bounce everyones entire boards to their hands.
  • Opposition infinite Drakes/Elementals means you can lock down everyones board indefinitely in upkeeps.

Thoughts on tightening up the combos and assembling them would be appreciated :).

Any great card suggestions or cards that don't seem to fit or pull their weight also would be appreciated!
