BEAR TRIBAL, BABYY!!!!

I was so exceited when this card was spoiled. I'm a sucker for jank tribes and bears are quite high on my jank rating.

This deck is quite similar to Tolsimir, Friend to Wolves (My Tolsimir decklist). You might not benefit from extra lifegain, however Ayula is more flexible, as she doesn't force you to fight like Tolsimir does and can buff your bears up to a decent power. One big advantage over Tolsimir is her mana cost. She can come down earlier and more often than Tolsimir, making it easier to build around her. Her obvious downside compared to Tolsimir is her lack of a 2nd color and being stuck with monogreen problems. (Lack of board wipes among other things.) That said, you can somewhat compensate the boardwipe problem with Ayula's fight ability, as your bears potentially double up as removal.

Just like with wolves, there aren't a whole lot of awfully useful or strong creature cards. Bears are almost worse in this regard than wolves, as most bears are just vanilla 2/2s. I included some for the memes (you don't get the chance to play good ol' Grizzly Bears in EDH all that often), however there are a surprising amount of decent bear token makers.

Words of Wilding works well with a lot of the creature based card draw. Most notably, if you have Elemental Bond and an anthem effect out, each bear you make with Words of Wilding can potentially create another bear for as long as you have mana! Bearscape can recycle some of your used cards and give you more bears in return. Ayula's Influence lets you turn excess lands into bears. This also works well with Path of Discovery , as it can potentially refuel your hand with more lands! And if you're feeling generous, you can share some bears with Kamahl's Summons ! (If you're feeling less generous and have an anthem out, you can make your bears fight some of your opponent's bears)

As with most ETB-centric commanders, Panharmonicon and flicker effects are very useful. Mono-green sadly doesn't get a lot of access to flicker effects, but you can still use Conjurer's Closet , Temur Sabertooth and Erratic Portal to recast your creatures. There are also creatures that let you bounce green creatures during your upkeep ( Stampeding Serow etc.) however, I'd prefer to have more control over when I would like to bounce my creatures.s

In addition to this being janky bear tribal, we can do janky, bear related infinite combos! Ashnod's Altar + Fecundity + Words of Wilding can give you infinite mana, which you can potentially use for a large Genesis Wave or Finale of Devastation . If you have a token doubler like Parallel Lives out, you can also use it to create infinite bear tokens!

The combo is pretty flexible and some of the pieces are interchangable. You can change Fecundity with Skullclamp , giving you infinite card draw, rather than infinite mana. If you have an anthem effect out, you can also use Elemental Bond instead of Fecundity as a safer option, although harder to set up. Not included in this deck, but also quite fun is Nourishing Shoal / Stream of Life and Aetherflux Reservoir . Or you could use Walking Ballista to shoot everyone down.

Other than that, the deck includes a some great fight-centric cards, such as Vigor and Foe-Razer Regent . Nightshade Peddler is a great replacement for Tolsimir's Wren's Run Packmaster . Any new bear entering the battlefield can be soulbonded with it to turn them into removal spells.

The maybe board currently contains cards that I have cut out, am considering or that are currently too expensive for me to get.
