'Cause if she can't protect your token hordes, you can be damn sure she'll avenge them!

My attempt at an Asmira, Holy Avenger deck. The name is a bit misleading for the sake of a cute pun, as it's not solely Voltron, more a countered- and Auraed-up Asmira supported by a token army. Remember that the rest of your troops exist only to build up and preserve Asmira and to create more hordes to serve her; they are the workers to her queen. They are expendable, but if she goes back to the command zone, she loses all the counters she's gained, so you want to keep her around as long as possible! Regeneration is key here as a result, and Fanatical Devotion does incredible work here; let your token hordes take those bullets for Asmira and let her do what she does best (beatdown!). Create those hordes using cards like Mycoloth, White Sun's Zenith, Hornet Queen, or Fresh Meat. If you can get Mirari's Wake out and get it to stick, the sky and your hand are the limit (use Sylvan Library to help with that last one!).

One thing to remember, however: Whispersilk Cloak, which gives the equpping creature shroud and makes it unblockable, IS NOT FOR ASMIRA! She needs to NOT have shroud so that you can target her to regenerate her (hexproof is fine, though). The Cloak is there for other creatures; it comes in handy to make whatever non-Asmira creature that has Pollenbright Wings attached unblockable, for example.

Combos:

  • Pollenbright Wings + Whispersilk Cloak : Guaranteed Saprolings every turn, absent any damage-preventing shenanigans (make sure you put the Aura on BEFORE you equip the Cloak!).

Win conditions:

Additions I'm considering:

  • Primal Vigor: Because Doubling Season and Parallel Lives are already in there, but any green deck with tokens should at least consider this as well; it's not as good, because it might help your opponents as well, but it's still worth considering. If doubling or quadrupling the tokens is good, octupling them is great! (And then double again with Rhys the Redeemed and watch shit go truly bananas.)

  • Asceticism and/or Privileged Position: Hexproof is the new black. Asceticism also adds another regeneration option for Asmira and her pals, so if I have to go with one, that would be it.

  • Planeswalkers: Elspeth Tirel would be handy for life/token production/nontoken destruction (which is fine if you can regenerate Asmira), and Garruk, Primal Hunter would be good for token production/card draw.

  • Rogue's Passage: Sometimes Asmira will have the Pollenbright Wings attached, and you won't want to use Whispersilk Cloak to make her unblockable because of the shroud. This would be a good alternative to make her unblockable without the problems that shroud brings up.
