Aura of Humanity ($90 Competitive Modern Voltron)

Modern Aggro Competitive Enchantment Mono-White Voltron

InDirectX

Sideboard

Enchantment (4)

Maybeboard

ACTUAL DECK PRICE: 90 dollars.

If you click on the TCGPlayer link and actually do the mass entry, it's like $90 without optimization. So pretty reasonable.

(Daybreak Coronet recently dropped in price, so this deck is about 40-50 bucks less than it might normally cost.)

The idea behind the deck is basically strong aggro from human soldiers and their auras. There is a strong control component, which makes me feel like it would be pretty competitive if I actually built it. (I didn't bother to find space for Path to Exile, I know.) There are three main aspects:

Angelic Destiny
Cavalry Pegasus
Call To Serve
the three above cards give flying
Spirit Mantle
Protection from creatures is absolutely insane, especially with vigilance. (That's why Brave the Sands is in the maybeboard.)
Favored Hoplite
Angelic Destiny
Similar to the below card, just more mana
Daybreak Coronet
The most insane card in any aura-focused deck, super strong.
Ethereal Armor
Gideon's Avenger
Pumps pretty fast (explained below)
Kor Spiritdancer
utility and easy pump?! sign me up
Soul Tithe
I prefer this over Pacifism because it can actually remove the creature. If their creature stays, they have to tap out for it, so either way it's delightfully good for you.
Gideon's Avenger
A truly political card. I played against it and was worried about tapping more of my creatures than I had to, because this guy is a maniac that pumps up off everything that you do. Control because politics.
Intrepid Hero
Sorry, you can only have creatures with less than four power.

Why Daybreak Coronet is a stupid good card:
My very first playtest went like this.
Turn 1: Plains
Turn 2: Plains, Hero of Iroas (currently 2/2)
Turn 3: Plains, play Call To Serve for one mana, then play Daybreak Coronet. Hero of Iroas gets 2 +1/+1 counters from his Heroic ability, and gets +4/+5 from his auras. So, he's an 8/9 with flying, first strike, vigilance, and lifelink.

other playtest experiences Show

Basically it's insane in this deck because of the Call To Serve + Daybreak Coronet combo.

Daybreak Coronet alone is basically $90 of the deck price; if you want to run a budget version of this, try Sagarys's budget jedi-themed aura deck:
