The main cards/concepts of this deck come from Sphere of Safety and Gideon, Champion of Justice.
Sphere of Safety is one of the best "tribal" cards I know. I say this because modern is not overwhelmed by enchantments but artifacts. Most decks find it to be unnecessary to put iovw qq aquarium 3smvy2w,n enchantment hate. This means that Sphere of Safety can be very powerful against creature based decks(which are most). The only non-creature win cons are burn and mill, and burn is the only real competition. Almost every card I have is an enchantment. This means complete lockdown of their creatures.
Gideon, Champion of Justice is my true win con. His 0 is how I win. I don't care about his ultimate, my exalted stacks and his plus helps me swing for lethal. I feel that this gideon is better than the Gideon Jura because of the curve and the option that their creatures don't have to attack gideon.
The rest of the deck helps set up for these cards. Spirit of the Labyrinth helps keep tempo with the control or storm/eggs decks. Nyx-Fleece Ram helps gain life and stop early attackers like Vexing Devil. Other creature stopping cards like Pacifism and Oppressive Rays help stall until I get out sphere. I try to hold back gideon until I have out sphere.
To stop (or hope to stall out) one of the biggest, in my opinion, decks rising to fame in modern: Twin , I have found that Aura of Silence really slows down twin because twin now costs six. And an addition of Torpor Orb is just another stop-twin card for the side board.
This was a deck I came up with during standard when RTR through THS was around. I'm not the most well versed in modern and any suggestions are appreciated. Not always accepted(don't get discourage), but appreciated because that means you care as much as I do.
