Updates

Made room for one swamp as I think having one untapped black source is better than more deck thinning with Windswept Heath. Removed some of the combo pieces to add landfall creatures. I think the cat's out of the bag with the combo and isn't as strong at least in my meta where it's very well known. Added Murderous Cut to the sideboard as a catch-all answer to wild cards. Last week I faced down Dragonlord Dromoka and folded because of how good he is. Seems to also be pretty good at killing Gideon, Ally of Zendikar.

Overall I've gone 5 - 3 - 1 with this deck in its iterations so far. Flamewake Phoenix seems to be a great way to draw out removal as it presents a huge hard-to-kill threat. Pretty happy I took out Dragon Fodder for this card. I also took out Evolutionary Leap as I have yet to play a mirror match. I decided to put in more Fiery Impulse to play the disruption game. I also removed Thunderbreak Regent for Hooting Mandrills as mandrills is a more castable card that presents a bigger threat that gets around most, but not all, cheap removal. I think this deck is very strong and in some cases it's impossible to lose.

The black splash for Kolaghan's Command Has overall been valueable. Games where I cast it (and if I pick the right modes) It can blow out opponents or give them almost unwinnable states. Bringing in Self-Inflicted Wound is also very good as it deals with a lot of threats that would otherwise be very hard to deal with like, Siege Rhino, Anafenza, the Foremost, Mantis Rider, Savage Knuckleblade, and Dragonlord Ojutai. Recently I've been thinking of switching gears and playing a white splash to play Ride Down as it's another way to give creatures with Become Immense trample, and Dromoka's Command to get rid of pesky enchantments like Silkwrap or Retreat to Kazandu
