Assassin's (Avacyn's) Creed

Modern* Aggro Humans Mono-White Tokens

Swamp_Kitten

Description

Ideally, perfect game....can go multiple ways. The best to start...

turn 1 is Champion of the Parish no questions asked. But I would take a Doomed Traveler if I had to.

Turn two: preferably Gather the Townsfolk. Champion get 2 +1/+1 and I have 2 1/1 humans, swing with the 3/3 champion. The next best turn two would be Thalia, Guardian of Thraben (yes I know she hit me to, but I usually don't have a problem running mono). If not thalia then the Precinct Captain .

Turn 3: this is where things get interesting. I would hope to play Ajani, Caller of the Pride but if I don't draw him then I play Oblivion Ring or Fiend Hunter depending on board state.

Turn 4: I usually set up the win on a good day. Any of my 4 drops are good to play. Angel of Jubilation to boost my creatures. Odric, Master Tactician to set up turn 5. Or Gideon, Champion of Justice for a lightning rod, if there is no storm, then my opponent better be ready for a Gideon to the face.

Turn 5: its pretty much play what I draw at this point. And keep swinging.

I can play Mikaeus, the Lunarch at any time. I had him on turn 2 before which will help when my creatures get out.

If the game goes late then I hope to draw Entreat the Angels or Avacyn, Angel of Hope.

I'v place top three whenever I play my human decks. I think the reason it works so well is because of the many options I have early game. My deck deck doesn't need a single pathway to win, nor a perfect hand. Because its a single color I am not worried about mana stacking and therefore can run Ghost Quarter to mess with my opponent.

This deck is my pride and joy...hope you enjoy it to.

Sideboard Riders of Gavony for when you go up against the inevitable zombie. vampire, or even human tribal decks. I'd also sideboard card:Faith's Reward to deal with Mutilate , Planar Cleansing , etc.

sideboard suggestions:Rootborn Defenses , Nevermore , Riders of Gavony , Knight of Glory , card:Faith's Shield

Maybe Geist-Honored Monk for the mainboard?I know it's 5 cmc but you get more flyers and the monk get's more powerful with all of your tokens...

card:Faith's Reward is not useful because it wouldn't give you your tokens back...

Wait. You have a humans deck WITHOUT Silverblade Paladin ? He's like, a must have.

I have a white weenies deck (with a splash of green for Mayor of Avabruck  Flip )) that wins me most games. Check it out for reference Jubilation Knights.

The only reason I don't run silverblade is because I don't have the money. I will deffinatly put it in when I have them!

I run a human deck with a diffrent approach, but I have to say from experience that Divine Deflection isn't really worth it, especially since you already have removal with Fiend Hunter . Maybe because of your fairly low mana curve you can run it, but there are cards that are better. I'd say even Midnight Haunting would be better just so that you have some flyers (Doomed Traveler doesn't really count) and because it produces tokens. Also if you can afford it or trade for 1 then Sublime Archangel would be amazing. Without splashing green you are more limited in card pool, and I highly recommend that you do if you want to make it better. Cards such as Champion of Lambholt , Mayor of Avabruck  Flip , Rancor , card:Avacyn's Pilgrim, Loxodon Smiter , and Thragtusk if you have the money for it are all excellent cards that you could consider adding if you splashed in green.

Hamlet Captain is a great budget option if you want to splash green. Angel of Jubilation and Thraben Doomsayer are great options if you do not want to splash green.

Knight of Glory would be a great budget sideboard option and card:Cathars' Crusade can work wonders with Increasing Devotion

card:Cathars' Crusade could be nice for Sideboard...

c16sh1, I believe sideboarding Divine Deflection would be used to deal with damage-dealing removal such as Bonfire of the Damned , Mizzium Mortars , etc.

spartanvi, that is true but I would say even Rootborn Defenses would be better for that.

Try to splash into the mana base the ability to run an action land, like Gavony Township for example. Just add 2 of it and 4 Sunpetal Grove and/or Temple Garden , also lets you do Selesnya stuff blah blah

Looking at earlier comments, I noticed you don't have faith's reward because someone said it wouldn't give your tokens back. According to the rules, tokens take a pit stop in the graveyard for a very short time where you can resurrect them, then, if no instants revived them, they go to 'tokenland'. Therefore, if you pulled a card:Faith's Reward after a board-wipe, your tokens would be saved. I'd recommend side-boarding it. +1, love mono-white decks:)

BLund says... #31

@Cod5 , Tokens hit the graveyard for creature dying triggers to happen, but then they enter oblivion after that short phase. I'm pretty sure there is no instant speed way to get tokens back after they hit, I think it's state based when they disappear.

You should sideboard some graveyard hate, such as card:Tormod's Crypt, Rest in Peace , or Purify the Grave . I'd also recommend putting in board protection into the sideboard, such as Rootborn Defenses .

...and Cloudshift. As it works in combo with Fiend Hunter. That'll make a player concede, =)

Mentor of the Meek would be a great card to keep things going if you start to stall.

I would suggest Nevermore for anything annoying.

If I was going to do the Reckoners I think I would add three because I don't want to mass with the human theme to much, but yes I agree...

I would still say add 3 cause they are the best blockers in standard

Might want to consider sideboarding Elite Inquisitor (to swap with Precinct Captain ) and also Blind Obedience . I run a similar mono white human deck and that's saved me numerous times against other fast agro decks.
