Description

Commentary videos! - Game 1 and game 2 of an MTGS tournament match vs. Prossh, Skyraider of Kher.

In short, the goal is to set up for a large turn in which you go ballistic with mana and Skullclamp, then cast an Armageddon + Asmira OR cast a Second Sunrise and set up an infinite loop with Eternal Witness.

Here are a couple examples of the deck in action:

vs. Kami of the Crescent Moon

vs. Rafiq of the Many

Additional replays can be found here.

In light of recent results, I think I'd like to find room for an additional removal slot, such as Nature's Claim... or possibly Song of the Dryads!

Thanks for reading :D

This deck is beautiful. Making me tear up. GW Combo players unite!

I'd try testing with Saffi Eriksdotter a bit, though maybe I'm biased because she's my general. She's excellent with a lot of the ETB/death trigger creatures in here, even without going infinite.

Sorry for the double post, but in order to help increasing the efficiency of skullclamp combo turns, you might want to try Concordant Crossroads.

I'm honored, thank you so much <3. I think Saffi would make an excellent general here (the synergy with Deranged Hermit, omg)... I have always considered testing her and may still in the future, but for the moment I must admit that I'm pretty happy with Asmira; you can Pod her directly into Hermit and she is great for picking off Planeswalkers (and being potentially gigantic). Saffi could have a place, though!

Concordant Crossroads has been on my "Maybe" list since day 1; I recently added Lightning Greaves in lieu of it and it has been really awesome. Crossroads is extremely powerful but it's very risky, so much so that I'm hesitant to run it... it's still on the list, though!

Thanks again, GW combo fo life! :D

Oh, I didn't actually mean as the general, I was talking more about running her in the 99. She allows you to recur creatures with powerful ETB abilities. You can get your greaves when Misty dies, re-use hermit, Ranger of Eos gets even better, stuff like that. It's worth testing, though I can't say what over. (Saffi is my general in a deck that focuses almost entirely around infinite combos with her)

As for the Crossroads, that makes sense, especially if you have a lot of people playing reanimator or big-creature decks in your meta.

You are right; Saffi has a potential that is tough to ignore (she's still so insane with Deranged Hermit, who is totally integral to the deck)... I'm not sure where I'd put her, perhaps in place of another 2-drop (like Sylvan Ranger?). Some testing is in order, thank you :D

I love your Saffi deck, btw!
