Ascend to defend the plane of Melian with a army of Slivers on your side

You are looking at my competitive commander deck, Protectors Of Melian.

This is the most insane deck full of nasty motherf***ing slivers.

It all began when I was building a deck list for Legacy Slivers and attended Game Day Hour of Devastation. The organizer recommanded me to build it as a commander deck. I had a Sliver Overlord which I got from magiccardmarket. At the moment, I felt it a bit hard to do a deck list until I enlisted the help of Eric Levine from Channel Fireball. He helped me a lot and this is going to be the first deck that I will be exceeding my ususual budget but it is for the good of this deck to be played in multiplayer commander games. This deck is made to be tribal. I highly recommand his advice and he offers the best advice if you are in doubt. This deck list wouldn't be possible if its wasn't for his help.

The deck works like its modern counterpart, all slivers inherit the abilities of other slivers played on the battlefield. It plays many different Slivers with powerful abilities and with Cavern in your mana pool, all the slivers you play are uncountered making the deck unstoppable even without Root Sliver in the game.

On the 8th July 2019, Paradox Engine has been banned due to being overpowered, I decided to put a card that will help me get what I need and that card is Crucible of Worlds. If I didn't do that, my deck would be still illegal to play in tournaments.

The forgotten legend of the First Sliver has been unveiled and now the legend of legends joins the Overlord's ranks.

This is the story of my deck, written by me (I am a alternate history/sci-fi writer wrote 29 books)

Overlord is always watching. Watching like the Eye of Sauron for threats that will threaten the plane of Melian. The gargoyles of the First Sliver watch the entrance of the Library of Melian for threats that may threaten the world of knowledge.

Melian, known for its beautiful lights is home to thousand of scholars who delve deeply into knowledge. Underneath the Library Of Melian lies the fossilized remains of the First Sliver, a legend of legends and it is also the place where the Genesis of Slivers began. Melian has an army and its protectors are both men and Slivers.

The last of the Eldrazi led by Kozilek were stopped by the Slivers. Kozilek had no bad intentions and asked to meet Melian's governor, the legendary Sliver plainswalker Mel. Mel looked to the sky to maintain eye-contact with him. Kozilek kneeled and he said that he will defect to Melian angering Emrakul and Ulamog in the process. Kozilek successfully joins, Mel's side becoming one of Melian's generals.

Kozilek and his gang of Eldrazi hid in a cave not too far away from Melian's capital. Their duties was to guard the coastlines of Melian from any invaders. Mel adviced Kozilek to watch out for Vraska and Liliana as they attempted to terrorize the country.

Kozilek developed a bond with Mel and he stopped his rivalry with the Sliver Overlord. The Sliver Hivelord still didn't like him but Mel adviced him not to fight him. Kozilek kept his kindness and asked the Hivelord not to fight with him. All the Sliver Lord became allies and they became to be known as the Protectors of Melian.

This is the deck of the legendary Sliver Plainswalker Mel, the governor of the plane of Melian

One day, Melian was shaking. Mel did not know what was caused such an earthquake and while Mel was going into the chamber where the fossilized remains lie and discovers that the fossils are not there anymore. Mel knew that the New Genesis has happened and according to legend the First Sliver will rise in times of need. Mel went back into the library and she found an inscription written in stone;

The First Sliver rising from the ashes of its former self, As the Melian underworld shakes beneath the mountain, As the Overlord signs his distress signals, As the dreadhorde remnants strike the city of Melian, The Sliver Plainswalker Mel, summons the aid of the Sliver Legion, And the slivers join the battle to take down its enemy, The First Sliver crawls its way into the sea and joins the Overlord's legions, And the fall of the dreadhorde remnants is imminent, And Melian remained unharmed.

This is the story of the Protectors of Melian, now with an new ally and new formation, the new genesis has come and the age of the neo-genesis is at hand starting with the awakening of the First Sliver.
