I had been working on a Blue Artifact deck with Padeem, Consul of Innovation as the commander (Padeem's Metallic Menagerie) but with the release of Breya, Etherium Shaper I felt I needed to work on a new version. This is a heavy Artificer and Artifact deck based on the stock Breya deck. Alternate Generals: Akiri, Line-Slinger + Silas Renn, Seeker Adept thanks to the new Partner mechanic. So far, this deck is just theory. I'll have the last of the pieces I need soon and will be able to test this out in the real world shortly. Changes may come after I see better how it handles reality.

I'm a fan of finding interesting themes or non-standard "tribes" and throwing decks together based around that idea. For an example of one of the 'sillier' ideas I had that worked, check out my Wall Tribal Deck: False God of Walls. When it came to Breya, I wanted to spin off my Padeem deck idea of powerful Artificers and their Artifacts coming into the fray. So I tried to minimize the amount of creatures which were not either artifacts or artificers. Notable exceptions to this rule (as you'll see in the decklist) are Akiri, Line-Slinger, Jor Kadeen, the Prevailer, and Hellkite Tyrant.

For the most part, my local EDH/Commander players are more casual. We tend not to include infinite combos or mass land destruction (as that seems to discourage new players at our local game store). Most, if not all, players tend to run at least one important indestructible creature. There are a wide range of varying play types so its not overburdened with all blue players, or counter-heavy decks, or only voltron, or tons of grouphug, or everyone playing pillow fort. There is a wide enough range of players, decks, and play styles that I need to either account for everything or include things that work easily (albeit not perfectly) against all of the potentials.

General Strategy:

The general strategy here will be to get artifacts out fast and do my best to repeatedly pull anything necessary out of the graveyard and back to hand/battlefield, while gearing up to swarm or laserbeam opponents. Laserbeam potential comes from Breya, Etherium Sculptor, Pia and Kiran Nalaar, and/or Marionette Master. Other win cons include Hellkite Tyrant + Mycosynth Lattice , Phyrexian Rebirth with optional Bonehoard which may or may not be attached to Ferropede , the damage potential of Akiri, Line-Slinger + Loxodon Warhammer , a board full of artifacts plus Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas using his -4, swarms of artifacts plus Venser, the Sojourner using his -1, and Sword of the Meek + Thopter Foundry to create said swarms to either swing or feed other cards' abilities.

For removal potential I included Scourglass instead of Nev's Disk so as not to destroy my own artifacts and to potentially make a Hellkite Tyrant win easier by clearing the board of all but the additional artifacts I need. I also included Anguished Unmaking and Dispatch to handle the range of Indestructible creatures that tend to make appearances at my LGS. There is also the Mycosynth Lattice + Vandalblast combo that will likely cause the game to come to a screeching halt if I have no other options.

I went lighter on lands (especially colored lands) than I usually do. I tried to compensate with Artifact lands that I could more easily tutor for, both Burnished Hart and Solemn Simulacrum, and Expedition Map since it can pull the useful non-basics as well. The hope is that being able to pull these from the graveyard, search them, and/or copy them will allow me a semblance of ramp despite having no green.

I may be too reliant on wanting to get out Padeem, Consul of Innovation + Mycosynth Lattice + Darksteel Forge to have a board of indestructible, hexproof artifacts with added card draw.

I think most of my win cons are too reliant on needing a wide spread of double colored mana which could be hard to pull out consistently in a four-color deck with only 14 basics out of 36 lands.

Lack of Mirrorworks, Panharmonicon or Prototype Portal lessen the amount of token generation. And without a Deadeye Navigator or Conjurer's Closet, my only real means of blinking my artifacts for more ETBs is Venser, the Sojourner. Lack of Homeward Path and Bojuka Bog will be surprising for my LGS and may wind up hurting me at some point. Having co Counterspell or similar cards could be an issue.

Assistance Appreciated:

Overall I think this is a decent deck but it feels like it may be lacking a bit. I don't want to go changing around the entirety of the thing to get it up to code but some card and combo suggestions I may not have realized would be greatly appreciated. OR if there are any glaring weaknesses that you may know how to fix or where I went wrong, that would be useful as well. Any card swaps would help also, i.e. if you had a good reason that a Sculpting Steel works better in the deck than Phyrexian Metamorph because it combos with one or two other cards in a better way that I didn't notice then that would be a big help, or if you thought that the return on investment from Trading Post paled in comparison to the mana ramp from adding an Ashnod's Altar because it allows me to fuel something else even better then that would be helpful and encouraged also. I'm not looking for a list of three card infinite combos to obliterate whole tables... I'm looking to make sure that this is still fun while also being a powerful threat. THANKS!
