I love artifacts and so I wanted to build a deck based on artifacts. At first I had Sharuum the Hegemon as my general of choice, but i quickly abandoned her because I either had to build around her using lots of combo's, or it made no sense having Sharuum leading the rest of the metalheads.

So when I noticed Sydri, Galvanic Genius it became clear that Sharuum had to go. As a bonus, Sydri is painted by my favorite female MtG artist of all time: Terese Nielsen.

The idea here is to just play cool artifacts, turn them into creatures if you can, and have fun. A few nice synergies in the deck are:

• Caltrops : when your opponent attacks, turn it into a creature and give it deathtouch and lifelink to gain life and destroy their creatures all in one go
• Liquimetal Coating to turn any non-artifact creature into an artifact so you can give it deathtouch/lifelink
