Aim: Swing with 5/5 flyer on turn 2.

This is reliably achieved through redundancy. The bulk of the deck can be view as either targets (cheap evasive artifact creatures like Ornithopter and Vault Skirge ) and boosters (cards that turn these artifacts into 5/5s such as Ensoul Artifact and Tezzeret's Touch ). Other cards in the deck are there help us dig to these key pieces ( Chart a Course ) or help give the artifacts a bit of a boost to pressure our opponent when we haven't got the key piece ( Cranial Plating , Phantasmal Form ).

This deck is very linear and it is capable of inflicting large amounts of damage in only a handful of turns. But it can also be easily disrupted with counterspells and (artifact/enchantment/creature) removal, and it quickly runs out of steam.

There are a few areas where I am still tinkering with the build. I am not sure what the correct ration is for the cycling lands ( Lonely Sandbar ) and I am not sure how many copies of Darksteel Citadel I should be running. I am more often stuck on colours than I am happy to have an artifact among my lands that I can turn into a 5/5 creature. Though I think that would be less of an issue if I had more dual lands.

Another change that I am looking into is Spoils of the Vault . I am not sure whether it will add to the decks consistency or if it will just be a way for me to lose the game at instant speed. Probably both.

I'd recommend this deck to anyone that is looking for a high octane budget aggro deck, it is a blast to play and it does follow the aggro saying that whether you win or lose the game will be over quickly.
